  1. International players A lot of over 30 catchers hanging on. At 4 m a year they have to hang on a long time to make their 100 million
  2. You did not answer the question of how were the Twins to know that a career 700 OPS player would fall off overnight. As you don’t have an answer for that and insist they should not have signed him, the only way to avoid that conundrum is to not sign any players. What’s so hard about that?
  3. Vasquez pretty much OPS .700 before coming to the Twins. Please be so kind if you are going to bash the Twins for signing him how they were to know that his bat would fall off that quickly. Since you are so opposed to this deal, the only way to avoid that situation is to not sign free agents
  4. You brought up the Cruz trade, why are you wondering what it has to do with Realmuto. You brought it into the discussion.
  5. Yup, the Twins should never take a risk and sign a free agent because all they do is decline
  6. There is a big difference between the Cruz trade and the Realmuto trade that most people seem oblivious to.
  7. The more desperate a team is for a player the better the deal for the seller. If the Twins are dealing starters they are best off letting the market come to them.
  8. A left hip impingement. The head of the femur is scraping in the joint. That is not something that happens overnight. Strengthening and stretching after a period of rest. That he was out less than 4 weeks seems odd. Arb eligible, so I suppose playing time is money. See Royce Lewis coming back too soon. Will he come back to what he was? Does he take the proper rest time and then go through the therapy? Find out soon enough
  9. None would sell enough tickets to notice
  10. Falvey said at the trade deadline he wasn’t going to trade Ryan unless he was blown away. On the other players he said MLB ready has to come back. That philosophy was followed. After seeing the havoc injuries can cause hopefully he has learned not to trade for injured nor oft injured players unless they are at a bargain.
  11. The year before he was traded Sanchez was shut down with right elbow inflammation. That should have been a red flag. Not even Prieler in San Diego trades a somebody who they think is going to be a top of the rotation pitcher for years of another player.
  12. When Miami traded Realmuto they ended up with 2 failed prospects and a journeyman catcher they sold for cash. They also bought more lottery tickets for the IFA class. In other words, they traded him for nothing. Jeffers for low level prospects is also selling for nothing. Cody laid out the argument for not trading Jeffers
  13. The contract for a prospect has a flaw. The large contract means somebody has enough good prospects they can sell a few. What prospect do the Mets. Have that is worth 50 million? A whole draft class and IFA class comes in at around 20 million or less. The math doesn’t look like it would work.
  14. When the dust settled Roden and Martin were on the MLB roster, Outman with the Saints. Outman was called up only after Roden went on the DL. I would think that would be the telltale sign of what the FO thinks of Outman, They took a flyer. The flyer. turned out to be Icarus.
  15. Never too early to think the lineup is set
  16. You can say sell high. Falvey has even at one point said he would sell high. Why does the concept that teams are not buying high never crosses some peoples cerebral cortex?
  17. On a team that had Bader and Castro for much of the year they did not have anyone to platoon with him, thus hurting his development by playing him. Can’t argue with that logic
  18. 87 team needed a free agent outfielder, a couple of back end bullpen arms from an era they were not highly compensated to raise the level of play from 71 wins to WS
  19. In 2025 Wallner was used differently than in 24, so what is the point of bringing up 24? Nope you will never know why Miranda went down in performance. Doesn’t stop people from making unsubstantial caims it was the Twins fault According to Fangraphs he had an OPS of over .800 when he got hit in the head and in the time afterwards it was under .600. So it is entirely impossible that the headbonk from a 95 MPH fastball had absolutely no impact of Miranda’s career
  20. The Twins will likely sign a closer, but it will not be a big name. Rebound, end of the line much like Fernando was. Trades are only if favorable to the Twins Owners, don’t know old declining first baseman? They got lucky with Santana, They could try, but the names mentioned have been in decline far longer than Santana was. Lots of people seem to think highly of some of the people available. I doubt people would watch for the retread
  21. The value of the prospects available would come nowhere near the cost of player coming with the contract. The notion that they would have value at the deadline contradicts. The player being traded at the deadlin
  22. when they traded for him, i don't think they expected anything out of him either. They left him in the minors in favor Rodon and Martin
