  1. Rick Rhoden is in his 70s. I don’t thick many people consider him young., either. Alan Roden at 26 might be considered young
  2. The typical response from someone who lets bias get in the way of rationality
  3. Yup, and to your posting a pitcher who has a league average ERA is a back of the rotation pitcher to be scorned
  4. The irony is that in an article about Twins position players, trading one of those corner outfielders for one of their pitchers is not a bad idea
  5. There is nothing complicated implied in his statement. There is complication when you tried to read into it
  6. Nice recap of how little is being done by teams. It is December perhaps in. 3 months getting upset might be in order
  7. Gonzales is on the 40 man roster. The others were all available for the rule 5 draft but not selected. This is their make or break year. We shall see what happens
  8. You call it word salad, I would say that he has seen the past criticisms and felt the need to explain what he meant by group of players
  9. 3 players had bad years last year. 2 are talked like the team needs to move on from them and the other is viewed as saintly, although he never played for the Saints
  10. Nor is it ever a good doctrine to think the roster in November and December will be the April one. The comments of let the (not a lot games played at the major league level) players play and be given a chance to improve should also be shot down.
  11. There is still room at the top for the other Stewart, Brock hmm, can’t seem to find the post you responded to.
  12. The return for 1.5 years of Berrios sees about what one should expect. So if the Twins had traded Berrios for a pitcher that had a career ERA+ of 101 that would have been a better trade?
  13. The kick change has less control thus more out of zone pitches. If it is his expected change the batter may lay off the pitch.
  14. So the group think appears to be lots complain about hope and hype on every prospect article. Every team with prospect pushes hope and hype. Any. Of the thousands of advertisements you see have hype in the hope to get your money. That is what it is, So the alternative is to just turn into a bunch of negative complainers all year rather than than just half the year.
  15. 165 players total players on the domestic reserve list, you can’t hoard them. The rule v minor league pickups have to be in the high minors due to playing time restrictions in the low minors. You can’t stash them. There are like 13-14 pitchers that they have to determine if they are big league pitchers. There really isn’t much more they can do in the minors. Adding more on clogs the flow. The type of pitcher being signed now to the invite list know they aren’t getting a major league contract. They are a lottery ticket. Unfortunately they are pick 3 prize,
  16. I am sorry., Bo you did not say exciting. I y was the only word that I could think of when somebody wishes their team was drafting more minor league rule 5 players that would clog the upper minors leagues, sign many, minor league players with an invite that was not a negative word.
  17. So acquiring minor league players that the other teams had 20-30 players that they kept is excitement?
  18. If at the trade deadline the Twins thought that Morris, Festa, Mathews and Prielipp were going to be MLB starters for the next 3-6 years they would not have sought the return they did for what they traded, If someone were to offer something of decent value any of those 4 could be traded. Those kinds of trades are probably unlikely to materialize until spring training. When other teams see their fringe starters are a lot less than they expected. If the Twins think it is possible that their position players will be playing closer to their ceiling they actually could contend in a weak central, especially if Kwan is traded. The thinking could also be they think the above 4 could be the next Duran and Jax. Time will tell. The people with pitchforks and machetes are not that patient.
  19. What did Boston see that made them go out and find a different 1B? Yup, the Twins could probably pick up Casas pretty cheaply. By next winter. All the Clemens posts could be recycled with Casas’ name on them.
  20. It is good to be Rob Refsnyder. 6.25 million from the Mariners
  21. So with all the complaints about defense the solution is to add another below average defender
  22. My take on the content is I am reminded that it has been cold lately and someone hasn’t picked up after the dog
  23. Yup, he.had a hot stretch of 10 games then settled back into mediocrity.
