  1. With all the injuries and oddities of this season, its 1/3 done. Seems like it is flying by!! 30-24 isn’t the worst but it could have been better.
  2. Many people on this site wanted nothing to do with Miranda, even tho he was injured last year. Yes, I regularly give up on aging vets that were good but not great in their prime and get signed here to do less than they did when they were actually good. I would much rather take the big swing on someone that has gas in the tank to supplement the farm system building a team model. I’d bring up more than 2-3 rookies every year as well but thats a whole different subject.
  3. Trade deadline time will be active selling of farmer and margo
  4. 1B, 2B and 3B. He can also PH when a lefty BP arm comes in. Not great at any defensive position but he is solid at the plate. Everyone wrote him off when he was injured. He looks healthy now.
  5. Sonny gets paid the same for 5 inning or 7. Rocco definitely rubbed off on him!
  6. The only money problems the twins have are a result of cheap ownership decisions. Our drafts as a whole over the last 7-8 years has been about average! We wont talk about the Cavaco/Sabato picks tho. 😳 the cheapo factor has lead to buying the lower level vets and it has almost always blown up in our face. One would hope that someday they will stop that.
  7. Miranda stays because he can play 3 IF positions and DH. We need his RH bat!! Farmer and Margo need to be traded yesterday. Several teams need backup vets more than we do and getting a low level prospect for each will give us some salary flexibility when we make a bigger trade closer to the deadline. In the mean time, we need to promote the kids that are the future of the team. We may need help to win the division and relying of aging vets that cant hit is not the way to win long term.
  8. Duran is heating up. Leave him alone. LOL. Coaches need to stop telling him to throw a hanging curve ball! 😳 within two weeks we will be talking about Lewis and Lee in the starting lineup. Easy E, we barely knew yee. He needs a reset. can we DFA Margo yet? Some kid in Wichita likes to leadoff with big flies and can cover some turf. The Twins lineup might need some of that. How about a Pablo siesta day and let Festa get some MLB cheese? It could get ugly if Cleveland and KC decide to keep winning consistently. We need reinforcements.
  9. So when Keaschall is done taking batting practice in CR, he is going to play the infield in Wichita and T-off on Texas league pitchers? Sounds like he might be getting close to a promotion! The twins have their leadoff hitter and future LF starter struggling mightily in wichita to hide his superman cape. For the love of god, promote Erod.
  10. I have been waiting for a write up on Ryans ‘24 season. His ‘23 season started out just as well but that hiding of the leg injury messed up last season and the confidence mgmnt had in him. He clearly looks like he is on a mission to be the best. He is oozing confidence. We simply need to see if he will stay healthy and keep batters off balance for a full season and playoff run.
  11. He is 21 and has checked every box in AA. He isn’t going to flame out when he is promoted because he is (and has) told the org that he isnt staying long in the minors. At any level. Get him to St Paul so he can ride the uber when he is needed. Dobber can guve him rides or just give him advice on how to hit MLB’s..
  12. Paddack is a horse. Ride that guy and take care of his arm. Ak’s on fire and the team now draws walks. What. Is. Going. On?
  13. Its time to find out if DK is an MLB’r. There are only silly excuses for not giving him an opportunity. Erod needs a AAA promotion so we can see him challenge better pitching. Why is the FO so adverse to finding ways to promote guys that are obviously ready.
  14. Our bats need to wake up! Our pitching is easily top 10. Hitting … not so good.
  15. Yup. I was wrong. I wasn’t on board with it much but understood why he was signed. He can stay as long as he is doing the Nelson Cruz ball smashing job impressions.
  16. DeAndrade and Kalai Rosario should be moved up at some point this season. Lots of pop in those bats.
  17. I agree that neither AK or TL have developed into the allstar candidates that we had expected but they may have 5-6 more years of productive professional ball left. I just don’t think we can put them in a scrapheap yet.
  18. Aren’t Miranda and Larnach a bit young to be deemed career dead? Each had stuff to work on and injury rehab. AK has some of the same issues right now. Castro went thru issues in Detroit. He is now a different player. Baseball is a grind.
  19. Ober is making big steps to locking down some playoff games. Julien is looking like a future gold glove candidate. Sands needs 3 days of rest and Santana has a full tank left in his game.
  20. If SWR continues his early success all season long, we will have a train of SP lined up for OCTOBER! The organization has done an admirable job in the last 6 years to develop a culture of SP development. It doesn’t matter if the kids were acquired via trade or draft. They are developing in the twins ORG. Whoever said that Joe Ryan is essentially the same pitcher as he was when we traded for him is just plain wrong. Joe have developed 3 new pitches as a Twins. He isn't even close to the same as he was 3 years ago. He is still developing and growing his game as a TWIN.
