  1. He certainly FEELS like a bat that we will be happy to have around. Excited to see his 2025 season!
  2. If things aren't going swimmingly there through the first 3 months of the season or so, I have to imagine that 1B could be an easy target for a trade addition prior to the July deadline. Don't know who that means, but a starter quality 1B should be easier to acquire than some other positions. Here's hoping that they have enough quality at 1B, and keep the remainder of the team healthy, for as long as possible.
  3. Is this not something where once someone guesses the answer and the chain ends right? I have to think Jacque Jones is the answer now, But since we don’t have closure I’m curious if we still have to keep guessing
  4. Jamie also wrote a pretty great article recently breaking down the 1st round catcher options he mentioned here for the mlb draft this July. Just wanting to share https://www.justbaseball.com/mlb/2025-mlb-draft-deep-dive-evaluating-college-catchers/
  5. They can send a prospect to Philadelphia too in a trade for Castellanos. That’s is an option. Plus with alcala and Varland and Topa all having options, in the end it doesn’t matter at all JUST the opening day roster. The 8 bullpen members for game 1 will certainly be different in game 9. They have room for everyone is what I am saying. At least for the first month and change at minimum. And that’s only if everyone stays healthy
  6. I'll give it a go. Is that Brent Gates?
  7. Dad, what’s reading the comments section like in real life? Well son, someone inevitably is going to say something to the effect of “I’m not a doctor, but” and then, well, you remember why reading comments isn’t a positive experience generally. So maybe don’t do it. Thanks dad! Good article! Thank you for sharing your writing :)
  8. That or a few things... 1) Change the philosophy to bring in more contact. It sounds like that focus is there this spring. We'll see if it works. 2) Keep the main guys (Lewis/Correa/Buxton) in the lineup more than last year 3) Be ready to bring up Rodriguez/Keaschall when they are ready 4) Be aggressive before the July deadline. But yes, agreed. The pitching is good, and the offense doesn't HAVE to be the 27 Yankees for them to win a bunch of games.
  9. The Twins were 13-58 last season when scoring less than 4 runs. That means they were 69-22 when they scored at least 4 runs. 4 runs is NOT a huge number, obviously.
  10. Good thing there is time between now and the playoffs starting to assess and make potential transactions then, right?
  11. I have to think Miami wouldn’t be against adding any pittance to their 2025 salary for one, plus basically all of their pitching is also coming off and/or dealing with injury. I guess we will see if he is here or not, but this front office has made deals with Miami before
  12. This is going to be WILD when he is traded March 12th to the Marlins, then he has a good season and the Twins re-acquire him in July :)
  13. No one on paper is at the Dodgers level. I'd also probably argue the Mets and Phillies and Cubs all look better than anyone in the AL. That said, if health is there, this team was playing as well as anyone for about 3 months last year. It's not impossible.
  14. Cuddyer and Sano were drafted/signed as SS's. Joe Nathan also was drafted as a SS. Same with Jacob DeGrom. It's not the drafting of SS's that means they don't have a 1B right now that isn't a star. Alex Kirilloff, if healthy, would have been very good at 1B by now. I have no doubt. We'll see, but I'm optimistic that new owners will help with payroll more to allow for more aggressive acquisitions for positions of need.
  15. Well that or attaching him with someone to get a different piece they could use.
  16. Harder and harder to see a long term, or even short term, defensive position fit for Julien
  17. I’d be really surprised if Paddack is just given a spot ahead of SWR, or Festa, to be honest. Hope he can do well obviously, but the young arms showed more than he did last year. Plus with Rocco not mentioning him, that answers the question for me.
  18. You are right though. If he isn’t in big league camp he wouldn’t win. My bad on reading the directions, or lack thereof :)
  19. I have to think if his back is feeling good he will be fine. Great write up!
