  1. I like the idea of seeing their competition. Knowing Jenkins will face both Sloan and Anderson soon is exciting no?
  2. One idea I just had while daydreaming; IF Toronto does fall out of it, what are the chances that BOTH Kevin Gausman and Jeff Hoffman could be part of a deal centered around Emmanuel Rodriguez? Toronto, IF they sell, certainly would want young talent back. And Rodriguez is out of options after this year, so even with massive power potential and a good eye at the plate, along with the ability to play center, he does have a lengthy injury history that any team would have to figure out. Not saying EXACTLY that would be the deal. But this one FEELS like a type of move that 1) would show that Tom Pohlad is serious, 2) would add good players to 2 different spots that are needs, and 3) be a pretty massive gamble trading someone with Rodriguez's ability for a rental in Gausman and a reliever who is only signed through 2027. Hypothetically this deal would help 2026, but it would be a pretty massive risk with a top 75 global prospect with pretty major injury concerns in his history. Hate it? Love it?
  3. He did just get the Brewers to sign Cooper Pratt to a long extension before he was even called up. That's one of, if not, the most recent contracts his agency has helped with, and that contract is for 8 years/50 million. Pratt may never be a star, but he wanted a long term deal and his agency helped make that happen. Not saying they are exactly equal. But I don't think Royce would need Bobby Witt Jr. money either. At the end of the day, isn't an agent's job to make the player they represent as happy and secure as possible?
  4. I think Kaelen Culpepper would have debuted already if not for his IL stint now weeks ago. That is the reason Tristan Gray is still on the roster. Once he is back and has had a healthy 10 day stint in St. Paul, I think then he is called up. I don't think there needs to be an argument on whether or not Jenkins will come up. If he truly is ready, he will come up then. It's not rushing him if he shows he can be a top of the order type bat in August. If he isn't showing that, then he won't get promoted. Simple as that. I have no idea what to think on Rodriguez. I do think in April he was close to getting his chance, but then he got hurt again. I tend to think, especially since he can't be in the minors again after this season since he is out of options after 2026 that he could be an option to trade now or this offseason (if there is a 2027 season.) I also have a really hard time calling Ben Ross or CJ Culpepper prospects. Maybe they both can help in a middle reliever or utility role at some point, but they don't appear to be needle movers. IF they are continuing to put themselves in playoff position, I'm excited for a trade deadline that has ownership's blessing to add payroll and talent.
  5. He is already signed through 2028. My guess is these talks could start after a new cba is approved. Hopefully that means no lost games in 2027 but I’m expecting it to. I’d love to be wrong
  6. Soriano had a really great start to the year. Since May, or even since April 28, he has an era north of 5. I don't know that Tait will be a catcher long term, but I'm not itching to trade him either. He doesn't even turn 20 until the end of August. Hopefully he gets fully confident at high A and then maybe finishes the year as a barely turned 20 year old at AA.
  7. I was really confused on the description of Turner being a 2nd baseman when next to his name he is listed as a right handed pitcher.
  8. He would very much cost more. I also think that (if there is a season) Pablo will be back. And if they aren't trading Ryan, then that top 2 with Bradley is fun to dream on. Mostly I want to add for this season only because I don't know if there will be a 2027 at this point. And trading for a non-rental is a LOT more expensive. Not that I'm against it, but I'd focus on rentals in the rotation first.
  9. And I’d be fine just adding depth more than a playoff starter. I’m worried that Prielipp will have to get shut down at some point, and there are always injuries. I think adding at least to get to the end of the year (knock on wood) makes sense. That’s what he would be to me
  10. Isn’t that every pitcher ever though? And wouldn’t you rather have Ray over Paredes, as an example? Or if someone like Prielipp has an innings limit, then Ray over who else would be next up then? He is a free agent in a few months and is throwing pretty well this year. I’d be open to it
  11. Not if Roden continues to show he can hit and hit with a little bit of pop he won't.
  12. After the first month I don't think this would have been a discussion. With how he has gone over the last month or two, I do agree more with this. Is he truly a starting level outfielder? I don't think so. Also, with Roden up (who I do think will hit) and Buxton and probably eventually Jenkins this year along with Keaschall, I can absolutely see Martin getting squeezed out. Well, Martin and more than a few guys currently at AAA.
  13. He had a 1.99 era for Toronto in 2025, his savant page looks fairly good. Sprock was killing it, so we will see
  14. I'm not giving up the world for Reid Detmers. I know he's been good this year. I don't want to meet that price.
  15. The deadline isn’t July 9th. It’s August 3rd. A lot will change between now and then for every team, including the twins. This is just a talking point but a fun one
  16. Spotrac has his listed as a ufa after this season. Thats what I am going on. If I am wrong, I’ll blame spotrac https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/17704/foster-griffin
  17. First, Griffin is an unrestricted free agent after the season. He would not be team controlled after this year. That said, I like the idea of adding a starter if they truly are not selling their big pieces. If they could turn their glut of aaa outfielders (not including Jenkins) into some additional arms, that would be awesome
  18. Agreed. I don’t see both paths being taken. If they are in contention and buying, I can see adding a starter to keep with Joe Ryan: if they go downhill and are trading Ryan, they aren’t adding a rental starter
  19. Depends on a few other things... 1) What is the return? 2) What other moves do they make at the deadline? Or this offseason? 3) Is there a 2027 season?
  20. So the Twins are listed here as being in the contenders, which is fun to type out. Their best match would be starting pitcher Foster Griffin from the Nationals. Their dream match is Kevin Gausman from Toronto. It also lists the best match for the Yankees as Ryan Jeffers, Milwaukee's dream match as Joe Ryan, and the Phillies dream match as Byron Buxton (I just can't see that happening. I also don't see Ryan going, but I think it'd be the smart financial decision even if I would want him for a potential playoff push if they are truly going for it. Thoughts? And what would be a fair trade for Griffin or Gausman? I figure, if they can trade away from their glut/surplus of outfielders in the majors and AAA for any semblance of either help or prospects, that's not a bad thing. I wouldn't trade Jenkins or Culpepper right now, but I'd be open to add if they are still playing well. https://www.espn.com.au/mlb/story/_/id/49306462/2026-mlb-trade-deadline-addition-top-contender-moves-dodgers-brewers-braves-yankees-phillies
  21. You are probably right. Just saying, if he can be pitching again soon then a starter isn't as big a need. But really, time is running out and I can't see a way he is back in the majors before the end of the month regardless.
  22. Bullpen, if they truly are going to try, needs at least 2 dependable additions prior to August 3, and maybe even 3. I'd LOVE another starter. If Ober looks good in his return tomorrow AND Mick Abel can reasonably be counted on to come back prior to August 3, then this is maybe less of a need. But I'd love the idea of adding a guy who can go 6 on the regular. With bats, you didn't mention Kaelen Culpepper. Just throwing that out. I do not know if adding a bat is a need right now, but I suppose you always have to listen. But I do think trading Larnach makes all the sense in the world regardless. I also don't know how much longer Josh Bell can hit like he has, but he has looked good in the dh spot for a while now.
  23. I like this idea. I don't want to volunteer to start it, but I like it. With that, I had a dream last night that Tom did go back, while also showing all that he 100% isn't Joe and is trying to fix what he called a mistake. With that, the Twins received Sonny Gray and Aroldis Chapman in a deal with Boston. In the dream Emma did go back to Boston, but as I am awake I don't know that they would want him. Tom did say that letting Gray go was a mistake, and Gray would certainly be a good fit next to Ryan which also allows Prielipp's innings to be better monitored. And for everything Chapman has been off the field, he still would certainly help at end of games. I know I know, this deal probably wouldn't happen. But in a baseball sense it makes sense, and it certainly happened when I was dreaming last night. :) Jenkins and Culpepper are both staying. Houston probably too, depending on if Roch is there at 3 or not. Otherwise I kind of hope they are actually open to adding. The worst thing in my opinion would be doing nothing at the deadline. Thoughts?
