    I suspect the only reason Gordon might beat out Martin to start the season is that Martin still has options remaining? Not a good reason, but that seems to be how this stuff works.

    I suspect if they are successful enough, this will sort itself out. I still think they are on starting pitcher away from really being a contender, but I also realize that what I think has little bearing on the reality of what happens here. And I’m good with that, too.

    And people will be satisfied if they do nothing? Any significant trade requires that you get it right. And that involves risk-taking. I vote for evaluating and then taking the chance. Who knows, you might lose. But you also might win.
