  1. I would think bunting for someone with the skill level of an MLB player could be accomplished with a little practice. It sounds like bunting is now thought of as an afterthought. With the progression of analytics, I am surprised that there is not more talked about bunting when an extreme shift is in place.
  2. The problem is, when he's thrown that cookie, it is usually fouled off straight back during his prolonged slumps. Then we get to listen to Dick explain how he's right on the pitch. It's kind of like the Kepler swing at one that is a foot outside then watch a belt high fastball middle in.
  3. It doesn't take a genius to see. 1. Stick him at 1B. Watch him play mediocre defense. 2. Make sure he's in the lineup. 3. Watch him strikeout like he was pulled up from little league until he starts to hit in mid-July.
  4. I don't think they are on a short leash. I think they have at least 3 years, until the wave of prospects start to hit late this year and next year. Then they'll have a year to get everyone going. I could easily see a veteran sell off at the deadline to load up on more MLB ready talent. I don't see ownership doing anything until the F.O. can at least be judged on the talent acquisition over the last 4/5 years.
  5. The pirates traded for Chris Archer. Maybe we can start with him and them and see if they sweeten the pot.
  6. This is all sounding too complicated now. I retract all my prior statements
  7. YEP. None of them! I just wouldn't want to temp the weather Gods. We squeaked 4 games in. 6 games was pushing it.
  8. You can't control the weather, but you can be smarter than having our first 6 games scheduled in MN in early-ish April. I would assume, most, if not all, are aware of our climate.
  9. This is a bummer. I was hoping it was Fernando Tatis.
  10. It's great seeing Lewis's swing. It's looking quick, compact, and comfortable to him. I hope we get to see him with the Twins this year. It's hard to root against that kid.
  11. That's right. Not an overreaction number 1, us not signing Robby Ray to the deal he got from Seattle.
  12. That's exactly what I was thinking! Baseball means nice weather will eventually be back. I wish I didn't live in the middle of nowhere and could get into more games. It would be nice if there were any options for watching the Twins via streaming. At least I can read about all the action on TwinsDaily.
  13. Yep. Any pen related moves better include Archer or Bundy. They have no role with the Twins past 2022.
  14. I love Rogers, but it seems like we are forgetting he had a terrible year in 2020 and was shut down for 1/2 the year last year. I understand Paddock also has injury concerns, but he has 3 years of control and good upside. Rogers wasn't going to be here next year anyway. I still think the F.O. is setting up for next year when the kids are ready and Maeda returns. If Correa somehow stays next year, we could be awesome! This year.... I'm not so sure. Extra bonus for the Rogers boys parents. They'll be able to watch a lot of games in California with both their kids playing.
  15. Why has this not happened yet. Now I have another day of checking in every five minutes.
  16. The Twins need to make this happen... Then I can stop checking in every five minutes!
  17. I'd be leary about giving up Larnach. I have a feeling he's going to be a very good hitter. You have to give up talent to get it. if Celestino develops, he'll need an outfield home too. That could soften the blow of losing Larnach.
  18. Not really....Nope. Don't want to see that at all.
  19. Rooker and Garlik can go. Give Celestino a chance to develop this year. No need to screw him up like we did with Aaron Hicks. Just get a dang person that can man centerfield. It seems like we are incapable of just having that guy. Marisnick would be at least capable at all outfield positions. He can't hit....wait, hasn't our fourth outfielder been poo fielding Cave (can't hit and can barely field) and Rooker (can't hit, field, or stay healthy).
  20. Neither can Rooker. And we are considering keeping him.
  21. I agree. That's also why I don't think they want to deal. Better to have to much than not enough. They may be injured and old but at least there is a chance they could get quality innings pitched from their additions. We'll see what our pitching additions give us. Hopefully we have some kids ready to pitch by June. I think we are going to need them
  22. Maybe San Diego's philosophy is you can never have enough quality starting pitching. I'm sure the Twins have a similar philosophy.... Just minus the quality part.
  23. The season starting won't get him going. For stretches during the session it seems like he's forgot how to swing a baseball bat. It's boggling how he can go on 3 week tares and look like an MVP and other times like he's never seen a pitch thrown overhand before. It's Kirilloff time. He'll play better defense and he'll hit more consistent.
