  1. I still think the F.O. had no plans to contend this year. They may have thought our pitching and prospects were 1/2 year to a year out. Next year is never guaranteed, and the current roster is getting it done in a weak division. Add some pitching, keep your best players on the roster, and try to win this year.
  2. There was a question in a post yesterday, why are no fans in the stands? This is an answer to our question. Sending down Lewis is solely to suppress service time. We are competing, he is succeeding, and the Twins send him down. It's a bad look, and giving the fans the we want him at short everyday is a lame excuse. Lewis earned being in the majors. Until he proved he needed something additional to work on, he needed to be in the majors. Especially after everything this kid has gone through in the last couple years.
  3. I agree. He'll either figure it out soon, or be sent down to figure it out. But, I think he'll figure it out and be a good MLBer.
  4. I hope he keeps it up. Almost every article on T.D. speaks of his ability to be a role player/4th outfielder. I don't understand this thinking. That should be his absolute floor. His age and minor league track record seem to show he could be a good to very good outfielder. Keep it up young man!
  5. I've had wrist issues too. They don't seem to go back to normal. If there is no structural damage he might just have to deal with this new normal. It's not what he's used to, so hopefully he can adjust and succeed.
  6. They needed to be focusing on Jeffers development instead of Garver's trade value
  7. Exactly...Just throw out enough so that everyone isn't trying to take a base. The Twins did not help out his cause in 2021. They put Garver in every possible lineup against lefties trying to get his kickstarted, seemingly at Jeffers expense.
  8. I feel the same way. I am excited for Royce. But, this is no silver lining. I want Royce and Carlos. If Royce produces at an average or better pace, him, Buxton, and Correa could take this team to great places.
  9. they just have THEIR guys they can't let loose....(cough cough Jake Cave)
  10. his defensive at first base... Not great either. He's DH. If we can make that work with Nelson Cruz we should be able to make it work with Sano.
  11. Dumpster diving season is almost back in MN! Goodbye winter.
  12. "To suggest that Duffey is solely responsible for the two losses he's been tagged with is not quite fair. In both cases he was working with an extremely thin late-game lead thanks to an offense that just can't seem to get going." What? So we blame the weak offense for providing a lead (thin or not)? It wasn't the defenses fault. It seems like it is pretty much entirely on Duffey's poor pitching. I understand he's a nice guy, but we don't need to coddle him, he's an adult. He's come out and stated he's pitched poorly. The only thing I hope is Rocco see's what is going on and adjusts. Don't stick with him just because he's a nice guy. I think we saw how well that worked last year.
  13. I was just randomly thinking, maybe we could put Sano in Center.
  14. I agree. Byron hurt himself sliding into 2nd!!! How would DHing have helped? If you are thinking about temporarily DHing, If he isn't healthy enough to be roaming around center, he probably shouldn't be hitting and running bases.
  15. Taking a look at a guy having a good start to the season 3 years after the fact....Not sure how this helps us.
  16. I'd like that. That could be a good spot for him
  17. The problem is, when he's thrown that cookie, it is usually fouled off straight back during his prolonged slumps. Then we get to listen to Dick explain how he's right on the pitch. It's kind of like the Kepler swing at one that is a foot outside then watch a belt high fastball middle in.
  18. It doesn't take a genius to see. 1. Stick him at 1B. Watch him play mediocre defense. 2. Make sure he's in the lineup. 3. Watch him strikeout like he was pulled up from little league until he starts to hit in mid-July.
  19. This is a bummer. I was hoping it was Fernando Tatis.
  20. It's great seeing Lewis's swing. It's looking quick, compact, and comfortable to him. I hope we get to see him with the Twins this year. It's hard to root against that kid.
  21. That's right. Not an overreaction number 1, us not signing Robby Ray to the deal he got from Seattle.
  22. That's exactly what I was thinking! Baseball means nice weather will eventually be back. I wish I didn't live in the middle of nowhere and could get into more games. It would be nice if there were any options for watching the Twins via streaming. At least I can read about all the action on TwinsDaily.
  23. Yep. Any pen related moves better include Archer or Bundy. They have no role with the Twins past 2022.
  24. Why has this not happened yet. Now I have another day of checking in every five minutes.
