    Bremmer noted that Correa has hit into league leading 16 double plays. That's a lot.

    Gleeman didn't offer an "emotional" response to Pagan, but rather telling stats. At the very least, the story in this data explains why fans are leary. This doesn't look like the profile of a reliever whose struggles are limited to a "disastrous first few months."

    Just heard Bremer say Stewart has elbow issues. OH NO, say it ain't so.

    Ouch, just got a chance to tune in. The Braves are arguably the toughest competition out there, this series is tough sledding for the Twins.

    This is damning with faint praise, but the Twins have looked worse. At least Sonny Gray had a good game against a great hitting team. And Winder handled the 8th.

    Cleveland's "Chief Wahoo" logo was cringey (they dropped that in 2018). The bar to me for changing the team's name is: it would be strange to name a new team after a given ethnicity/race.

    There is talent on this team, but so many players are seriously underperforming (e.g., many are striking out at much higher percentage than in other years). I don't get it -- and I don't see how you can blame that on a hitting coach -- there are guys on this team who know how to hit professionally.

    The 2 games against the Brewers were fun to watch and I was hoping we might get on a roll.

    More muscle mass and less flexibility seems to result in more injuries.

    Before this series, the bats were quiet. It was awful. Yes, we could have won this game but didn't, and Pagan shouldn't be a relief pitcher. But at least the offense started rolling!

    I still found this game more watchable -- the Twins bats were inert for so many games. Yes, there were some fielding mistakes and Pagan blew the lead, but other games felt decided in the early innings when the Twins were 1 run behind. Those are interminable.

    Last season when I saw the team struggle to score runs, I thought -- they REALLY need Arraez. The general sentiment was that a starting pitcher was more valuable (ok), but also that Arraez was easily replaced. Not so. Still, the offense seems much worse than you'd expect, as several folks have noted. I assume the poor group performance is about a team approach to hitting, and that the offense has not slipped into some uncanny MN sports version of the Bermuda Triangle.

    Why this team sends down or benches hot bats (Wallner this time) is a mystery. I thought this year's team had promise but here we are in familiar offensive doldrums. The Twins plodded through last season and this feels like a repeat. Last year I would think -- well, just imagine if we didn't have Arraez... I don't know if plantar fasciitis has been contributing to Correa's woes all season, but clearly something is amiss. Bench Kepler, his heart isn't in it.

    And maybe Jeffers' batting work is starting to really pay off and we are seeing another upward trend develop? One game not a trend, but wow Jeffers hit a bullet last night to win the game and he also had two singles. Maybe he is earning a bigger role especially if Vasquez doesn't return to form.

    A clutch hitter in his first game back - just what the Twins need. Congratulations, Mr Lewis!! Kirilloff looks good, too. And Wallner was on base 8 times before being sent down. The young crew have some life to their play -- even as Correa and Buxton are struggling.

    Stewart has been phenomenal until this one inning. It happens.

    I don't get this team. They have a good game, then disappear. The inconsistency is painful. Correa's struggles were well publicized, but Buxton has been a notable dud with runners in scoring position. Here and there someone shows a spark offensively, but then they conk out. Wallner does hit, but is sent back down. With such superlative starting pitching, you'd think the offense would be fired up. Instead, they seem deflated and depressed.

    Yesterday was a fun win, today they look stuck in quick sand. Fits and starts.
