I agree it will not be easy, but I will stand by that doing the needed stuff to build towards being a great team is much better than staying a 78-84 win team. That imo is truly sucky baseball. But I will leave it at this: Falvey is not the guy to be doing this. He should be dismissed to say it kindly. Or to put it in other words, FIRED. Now would be better than at seasons end. But I'm hopeful that he will be. That won't happen though unless we get the new owner is my guess. If he is still leading the FO in November my optimism will be gone.

This is how I also expect the pitching to pan out. I think Ober is the one who will be retained with the hope that he will bounce back to some of his pre 2025 form and have decent value at 2026 trade deadline. Bradley will be high in the rotation order for 2026. They didn't acquire him to sit in AAA. Abel unseats the poorest of Matthews, Festa and SWR. My prediction would be SWR. Who will be a future trade candidate himself even. But once this happens this rotation will take some hard lumps for a couple of seasons until the lineup gets built up. I honestly don't see Jeffers in a Twins uniform in 2026. Or Larnach. My belief is it will get uglier before it gets better. New ownership or not.

The A's got a better package. I for one would have been a whole lot more pleased with last weeks happenings if we would have gotten that deal. But as for the tear down, rebuild, build, whatever it is it is necessary. We can be a 78-84 win team for the next 5 years or we can suck for a couple and be a 95 win or more team in 3-4 years. That's an easy choice for me. But,as far as I'm concerned Falvey is not the guy to get it done. Lastly, unlike what I continue to hear, the Twins will not be using the Correa savings to sign better players. That's my honest opinion. I also believe Lopez will be moved to shed more payroll and Ryan should be moved to capitalize on his high value.

yep I agree. Problem for Trevor is he's going into 2nd year of arb and making 2.1 this year so arb will dictate a decent raise. MN will likely want to non tender and yeah probably won't be too many lookers out there. Sometimes arb prices don't work in a players favor.

Wallner might be back because he'll be cheap and rebuilders need bodies, but he needs to start hitting yes. Larnach's time here is very short. He's likely a 4 mil player next season so not so cheap. He's gone one way or another imo.

And if he's nothing more than a body to fill a roster spot this season and next you find that out. But teams in rebuilds need bodies. In all fairness some of the guys on that 82 team were awful too. But the cream rose to the top and that's what the next year or two will show here as well.

Keeping Keaschell and Rodriguez down now is just how you have to play the game and it's the smart thing to do. Next opening day is a different story. If nothing changes between now and then both will be up. I'd like Jenkins then too personally, though he might more be the next season. Larnach's time is ending here and maybe Wallner too. This is a key two months for them as far as their MN futures go.

More trades are coming this off-season. Think Ryan and Lopez. Ober quite possibly too.

And I still believe that Martin has some of the same stuff that some of those 1982 guys had. Intangibles that can't be measured. He should be given the chance to prove it on a team that has nothing to lose by giving him a chance.

We're seeing the last we're going to of Julien no doubt. As for Larnach hopefully he can play well enough these last two months to have some trade value, at least as an add on in a trade. otherwise he'll be non tendered. I guess I'm choosing to try to get something positive out of the situation we're in. To me this is a little remindful of 1982. Terrible team but the end for that team was a couple of WS.

But yeah they could still tank by having Eeles up and playing. At least we'd see what we have if they did. That would be my choice. But they have their own ideas.

yeah this is tanking. I do understand the strategy of Julien being up. Try to see if he can improve his game and see if another team will cough up a prospect in November. But the truth is it's too late, that ship sailed and they missed it. Kiersey, Gasper, Fitzgerald etc are the tank crew.

I agree it's the same struggles, but at the very least the team has played hard the last two days. They just aren't good. But imo playing hard is at least an improvement.

I couldn't agree more. At this point Ryan should be traded next winter. He doesn't fit in the next competitive window at all. But the pieces he brings in return will. Pablo should be traded as well. I believe Jeffers should be too. If this is a rebuild do it right. Forget about short-term mediocrity. Keep Ryan happy, winning and loving Minnesota. Trade him for a haul and if and when you have new owners show him how much you value him after 2027 and resign him as an FA.

Twins should not have signed Correa to his last FA contract in the first place. They should very well have had the vision to see where the finances would shortly be. But since they did they doubled down imo of trading him for nothing and eating 1/3 of his salary. Another mistake. They will not reinvest the savings but will be able to use the the remaining Correa payout as an excuse of why they can't spend for players. I've never liked Correa, but I also see him rebounding with Houston for the next couple of years. I believe the selloff will continue in November with the dealing of Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Jeffers and whatever they can get for Larnach. The next two years will be very bleak here if you like wins. I'm in the camp that the Pohlad family isn't selling anytime too soon.

Falvey needs to be gone. His way failed. He's had 9 seasons to reach the upper levels and he has failed. Get him out of here. My take on the Correa trade is also that he was given away. Yet we will still be on the hook for over 30 mil. Anyone who thinks that the "savings' will be reinvested while we still owe him money is not living in reality. I have never been a CC fan. But imo trading him for nothing while still being responsible for paying him was a poor move. He will be replaced by minimum paid players who will produce that way while we lose a player who at least has the potential to play at top level. For those celebrating this trade it will not be a win. And this view is coming from one of the least favorite fans of CC. But Falvey and Rocco can't be gone soon enough for me.

The Twins Finally Picked a Lane

Tait is 3 years out. We've all seen where that goes. Nowhere. In 8-9 years we've developed one catcher and if anyone is honest he's a part-time platoon guy. His history and stats back that up. Sure I'd like to be optimistic about Tait. But I have proven history telling me not to be. As for the rest of these acquisitions they are all prospects. And history also backs up how guys develop at the big league level here. Lots of part time poor glove so so bats. In the meantime we have no Pen. No defense and boring offense. ad Falvey added some more of these types to go along with back of the rotation starters. Get Falvey out of here and Rocco too. I'm all for rebuilds, but Falvey isn't even calling this one. That letter shows that. A rebuild can even be fun to witness. But not when the regime in charge is a failure at it. My frustration isn't even with yesterday. Mine is with 9 seasons of the same wash rinse repeat garbage.- 301 replies

As for the Correa discussion, who actually thinks that the money saved will be reinvested in better players? I don't. That's not how this team works. New owner? Where are they? They don't even exist at this point. Pohlad is the owner and they will not reinvest that money. They are licking their wounds over the 30 some mil they will pay out for nothing.- 301 replies

One short series PO win in 9 seasons. That is failure. A coupled of other PO appearances. One convincing season, 2019, in all of this. That is failure. Unwatchable baseball from a listless team much of the time. That is failure. Yet here they are still in control of the front office. Ready to bring us more failure. The Catching situation is a great example. Vazquez will be gone soon, at the most by the end of the season. That will leave Jeffers for 2026. We will once again be relying on a catcher who should only be a part timer. Right now no tandem is even in tow with him. Oh but now we have Jimenez and Tait. So what? They are 3 years at best away from helping this team. This is failure.- 301 replies

As I contemplate I'm fine with tearing it down. Not that I'm fine with some of the returns but fine with the choice. That said don't stop here. I know this won't be popular but others need to go and contribute towards the rebuild. Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers, Larnach, etc. But Baldelli should not be leading this rebuild. Get him out of here. In all honesty neither should Falvey be continuing here. He built the team and it failed. Pohlad's can'r be gone soon enough. But when?- 301 replies
