It was mentioned in the lead to the story that Clevland is "lucky." Good teams seem to make their own luck I believe. Bad teams are bad and have no idea as you stated.

Forgot all about there being an early game. Hopefully I can forget there is another game coming up in an hour or so.

The past, present and future problem of this team is ownership, front office and manager. Changing just one won't fix things. They all go hand in hand. But it is time, past time, for Rocco to be replaced. To keep my post in line with the subject at hand. Prospects that graduate to the ML team developing their games to a higher level once here is putrid. This is the managers ultimate responsibility if that is how the organization is setup.

Mauch, best actual manager the Twins have had. Agree 100%

Just as it was time for Gardenhire to be gone it is time for Rocco to be gone. Same with Falvey. The great failure of the entire regime is players not developing at the ML level. That's why 2019 was/is the outlier.

The Twins aren't going to spend 30mil on FA's. They just aren't. Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers and maybe even Ober are likely to be gone cutting about 45mil from payroll. If the players association makes a stink about it they will make the claim that they are losing 40mil this year and attendence is sagging. My best bet is they make more trades lowering payroll and overpay on some long has been veterans. They know they aren't competing, think the past 6 weeks, so why sign high priced good players?

Everyone says Keirsey is no good. I still don't know if he is or not. But getting 15-20 PA's a month no one is going to thrive with that. But I also suspect his chance is now gone. Clemens, I would love if he is a bench backup player. But I would hope that someone would be developed that would put him in this bench role. Mismanagement seems to be the mo of this organization under Falvey regime. As long as he continues to head the FO a WS is something we will have no hope of attaining.

I've never been a huge fan of Richardson. But he has proven himself a whole lot more than Matthews and Festa have. Or Bradley. He's not going to be discarded.

Keep Buxton in CF. He's a known commodity. Unlike Jenkins and the ever injured emrod. Going back generations there have been older players that man CF quite well. It could possibly be that now that Buxton has managed to tone down his aggressive play in the field that he will play more and be injured less. We saw how well he performed as a DH. He didn't. Why mess with his game again.

I for one am fine with playing the people we have in the system now in 2026. Let's find out what we have and see if what we have will improve. This team isn't contending in 2026. At least most of us don't see that happening. And if it does, great. Let it be with what we have. We have veteran players already. Jeffers, Buxton, Larnach, even Lewis are now veteran players. We can shout from the rooftop about Bader as being proof for signing veterans from around the league, but what difference did it make to the 2025 team? We were losing when he was here.

Martin has earned the chance to play everyday for the rest of this season. He's outperformed most of the rest of this shipwreck over the last month. I believe he is a player but I believe he also needs to earn it. But he has earned September playing time. I concur with some others, this is the kind of player people have been clamoring for. Now when he is here he gets picked apart. What I do disagree with from the article is that Martin will do best with having a regular position to play at. I don't see him as some sort of super utility player.

Fire Falvey and Balldelli. But since that's not going to happen the team will continue to go downward. Yes the hole can get deeper.

Whether many like to admit it or not Wallner adds to the problem with this team. He shouldn't be in RF. Defense is very valuable and Wallner doesn't have it. I'd be ok with him shifting to DH. But at that he will be a part-time DH meaning another player still has to cover for him. He's not an elite bat. I'm also not advocating trading him. Put him at DH against righties and find another player to platoon him with.

That would be Richardson. Good stuff most times once or twice through the order then he's done. Unless you're OK with a guy that only gives you 4 plus innings. But if you are, then you better have a deep pen. Which we do not. Of all the guys we've discussed of converting Richardson would be my top choice.

I'm fine with running Abel out there time after time the rest of this lost season. We have him and may as well use him. But his resume and the resume of the guys that traded for him give me little confidence.

I'm really comforted by Joe Pohlad's commitment to winning. I can't imagine the state of affairs if he wasn't.
