I would be very surprised if one or more or all even of Lopez, Ryan and Ober being traded in the off season. If you're doing a tear down that's what you do.
  2. sweetmusicviola16
After trading for Ebel and now Bradley what this tells me also is that they know this heralded pitching pipeline is a big nothing burger. 8 years now and they have Ober to show for it.
  3. sweetmusicviola16
This I don't get. Why trade a guy with as much control as Varland and who's trajectory is quick;y continuing upward for a teams #5 prospect and whoever the other guy is? Ridiculous. Say hello to 5th place for a number of years. There is rebuilding and then there is rebuilding smart. This is stupidity. Vazquez is still likely traded in the next week or two. Twins need to save more $$$$. Just nobody needs him for the PO's.
  4. sweetmusicviola16
Can you clarify the $90,000 signing bonus in paragraph 2? I think I read and heard that it was 1.3mil or something.
  5. sweetmusicviola16
Actually if Duran makes 8-10mil in his arb 2 year they will save all of that minus whoever they pay league minimum to.
  6. sweetmusicviola16
5th place next season is not an unreasonable expectation. The sad part is a regime that has failed at player development is presently in charge of what fully appears to be a rebuild.
  7. sweetmusicviola16
And if you're price is not met tomorrow you wait until the winter to deal him when you have many many more clubs who are looking to build towards 2026. He did not have to be traded now.
  8. sweetmusicviola16
He's 3 years or more away. If ever. Duran is an established closer. The top one on the board. This is a clear signal of a full rebuild. Which is fine. Probably needs to happen.
  9. sweetmusicviola16
There will be more deals. I would be very surprised actually if Jax is still a Twin in 23 hours. Bader, Castro and Columbe will all be gone. Stewart as well. I do expect Correa and Ryan to stay at this point.
  10. sweetmusicviola16
Disappointing, there is no Painter coming to cover up this mess.
  11. sweetmusicviola16
When the headliner for your star closer is an A ball C that signals to me that this team has no intent of competing for the next 3 seasons.
  12. sweetmusicviola16
Call me unimpressed. A C that is 3 or more years away. The price you pay I guess for not developing C's. Someone is responsible for that yet Falvey still holds a job.
  13. sweetmusicviola16
    Duran is gone. No mas.
  14. sweetmusicviola16
This is more likely. Paddack for Jimenez and flyer prospect B would have been standard. Dobnak is the replacement of flyer prospect B. He just is and the entire baseball industry knows it. The bottom line is they left a possible future prospect on the table for a 2mil or so savings towards ownership.
  15. sweetmusicviola16
Another fact, no savings on Dobnak's contract will ever be put back into this franchise. How that can even be suggested is beyond me. It should be an interesting day coming up.
  16. sweetmusicviola16
I like the trade, I'm fine with getting lottery ticket Jimenez. But industry consensus is when you pass off more money onto the team you are trading with the return goes down. That's a long known fact.
  17. sweetmusicviola16
Your entire post is very unfortunate. Lifting Jax for Clemens. smh The last line in the article. How very true. "absolutely no life" Bring on the trades. Dump Baldelli. Dump Falvey. They had their chance. It's past time.
  18. sweetmusicviola16
If we trade Correa it needs to be to make the team better talent wise. No salary dump by ownership. If Pohlad's got rid of his salary it would only be replaced by another 4-6mil has been veteran. That is likely. If it's a fair deal that can be made of course you listen and think about it. Obviously no one is happy with his 2025 performance.
  19. sweetmusicviola16
This is a 74-78 win team perpetually. And lets face it, the team has regressed.
  20. sweetmusicviola16
I couldn't agree more. You have nothing to lose by recalling Martin, absolutely nothing. You can only gain. If he struggles so what? But if he doesn't..... So lets keep Martin in St.Paul. smh
  21. sweetmusicviola16
If you're going to sell on Ryan, now through this next off season is the time to do it. When will Ryan ever be worth what he is now? Never. But with that said the return must be significant. As for the players listed, yes they'd be a significant piece. But what else do each of these teams have that would meet the needed price for a possible CY Young SP? imo unless we are going to make the moves to get better in 2026 you don't sit on a Ryan. You capitalize on him. All I've heard on here for two years and from the org is how great our pitching pipeline is. Is that true or not? If you're not building to be a true contender then you don't need Ryan. Whether you win 77 games or 69 makes no difference. Play your cards right and you can turn Ryan into the pieces that make you a real contender in 2028 and beyond. The present team even with Ryan is not a contender. Not even close.
  22. sweetmusicviola16
What doctor said about trading Julien two years ago is correct. And you were correct, should have traded Julien two years ago. It's too late now. He has no value left. Martin I don't believe will get traded. I don't see him getting a chance with the Twins necessarily but that he will have options next season yet does give him value to the club for injury reasons. And as others have pointed out when Castro gets traded its possible Martin does get the call. He too would net little by trading him away.
  23. sweetmusicviola16
This is getting close to the point of where this isn't just a slow start but rather this is who we are and what we have. It's very much looking like a cluster phuck.
  24. sweetmusicviola16
When the Twins finish losing this game they will be tied with the CWS for last place. Tied for last with a barely semi pro team.
  25. sweetmusicviola16
Only fallen stars on this team. I've been holding off judgement on this team and trying not to be a Debbie downer, but it is as I thought in February. This team is not a team. Poorly put together and no life to it.
