  1. I agree. Aside from Lewis who has developed into a full-time ML player under this regime? I think Lewis is a player but hasn't stayed healthy enough to stay on the field. That isn't on Baldelli. But Wallner is an interesting player. I believe he could be a great hitter. But its been decided that he can't hit LHP. This has been decided on some 80 ML PA's. 80. So he becomes a Twins platoon player based on 80 PA's. Wow. Wow and wow.
  2. Rocco has already stated that France isn't a backup or even a platoon guy. If France makes the Twins he will play and play a lot. The only way France doesn't is if he doesn't make the team out of ST. Which I doubt happens. I think France breaks with the club and plays a lot. What does this mean for Miranda? Less playing time. Less of a chance to get in a groove and become comfortable as a 1B and a full time player. Not only does it effect Miranda but it will also effect Larnach because with France and Bader on the team there will be more players vying for DH AB's as well. These players should be as developed as they can get but they will learn to sit until the Twins cut them loose and they can play for another team.
  3. The bailing out by the Ishbia's may explain the moves of Falvey/Zoll over the last two weeks. The go ahead was given to do things the old fashioned Twins way so sign some washed up veterans since no new ownership anytime too soon.
  4. I agree. Santana not worth going 12mil on, now attaching an option to him last year at the same salary might have been worthwhile. The bat too aside from his early summer hot stretch was nothing overwhelmingly great either.
  5. I concur on much of this. Correa is the obvious choice at SS. Then Lee is the best 3B. 2B I would also give Martin some significant time there. Lewis shares time with Martin and spells Lee at third. Miranda gets significant time at 1B with Lewis also getting some seasoning there. Lewis has no time at first so this part is an experiment. ST would be a good place for him to gain some experience. I hate to see him be turned into a utility player but....
  6. The worst thing is, I firmly believe that Gasper has already made this team. It is guys like Lee, Martin, Julien that have to prove themselves. Keirsey not a chance.
  7. Wallner has less than 100 PA's against LHP in his Twins career. Yet we are convinced that he can never hit one. Wallner will sit and continue to not develop in place of a guy who makes every effort he can at the plate to get himself out. RF Castro LF Bader C Vazquez 1B Julien 2B Gasper Yes I can see Rocco doing this.
  8. I personally would have Lee starting at Target starting out 2025. Sending him to St. Paul will prove nothing. What is the alternative at this point? Signing Whit Merrifield or Nick Senzel? Lee has 185 PA's in the majors is all. Let's see what he does with 550 this season so we have a better idea of who we have. I believe we have a solid everyday player. Not necessarily an all-star but a solid player. I suppose I should delete the Merrifield/Senzel quip, otherwise Falvey/Rocco could think it's actually a good idea.
  9. I agree, Lewis has a lot to prove. First and foremost he has to prove that he can stay healthy. If he can't do this then he is a wash. 50-60 games a year is not a player a team can truly build around. I do believe that he can hit. But health is huge. Then we go to defense. He's not a SS. I don't think he's a good 3B. He's largely unproven in the OF and at his age I don't see a future for him there. No clue as to whether he can be at 1B. It's not as easy of a position to play as most seem to think it is. So I'm not looking to him to ever be at 1B. I think he best profiles at 2B and should be put there. Then the guy that this article is referring to, Lee, could be put at 3B. Does Lee have the bat for 3B? Probably isn't going to be 30HR power but does appear to have the defensive abilities that we should be looking for at third. Just my opinions. Time for this org to develop a 1B and C.
  10. I would prefer to see Lee playing 3B. He's the best one we have in the org. Whether he can hit ML pitching on a consistent basis is another subject all together.
  11. OK, so Miranda has to prove something. But based on the verbage from the Manager France doesn't.
  12. "This isn't a platoon situation." Too bad Miranda. You just became an end of the bench player.
  13. Cartaya. He offers little excitement either. But will be an interesting player to follow this season.
  14. I'm of the thought to go with Royce at 2B and go with Lee at 3B. Only question to me is if Royce can handle the physicality that goes with 2B. But can he stay healthy anywhere?
  15. I'm not big on Casas. Not a good 1B glove and the bat isn't much of an upgrade over Miranda. I'd rather stick with Miranda and keep Richardson. Maybe Casas improves his glove and explodes with the bat?
  16. Miranda really hasn't been a very good 1B. Really not that good at 3B either. Neither has Lewis. Maybe Brooks Lee? Looks best at 3B. Then again is France anymore than ho hum at 1B? Julien not the answer anywhere. Infield looks like a mess to me, aside from Correa. They all better hit.
  17. Everybody wants to hammer on Martin. I'm not saying he will become an allstar or even a league average player. We don't know yet. But what I did see last April when he was called up was a guy that provided spark. He certainly has some good things in him. But if he is just cast aside into the gutter because of rookie struggles we will never know. My name on here is sweet music for a reason. Frank Viola became a TOR SP. But if we had only judged him on 1982 he may never have. Or he would have done so for another team. Give Martin another chance, he has good upside. Ty France is finished. Harrison Bader is on a slippery downside. That is my opinion Doctor.
  18. We're in agreement. If there is a competition. Which if France has a guarantee of his contract there really won't be.
  19. On most all of what you said we agree. But quite honestly, what the difference if we play .500 with these new signings or we finish 3 or 4 games under playing the guys that we had here already?
  20. So did Ty France. I guess I fail to see how replacing a player that sucked with another player that sucked as an improvement.
  21. I would have liked this team to have done what it took to sign HaSeong Kim and actually raised the talent level to another level. France and Bader do little to nothing to raise the bar up.
  22. I'm with you 100% on this. I would rather take the chance and be 94-68 even if it means we could finish 75-87. I have seen too where young teams grow greatly too when they finish 75-87. Because they got the chance to develop. Miranda isn't going to develop at the same place playing behind Ty France.
  23. Miranda will make the team, unless we make another splash FA signing. lol Julien, Gasper or Martin gets dropped. My personal guess is Martin. Where is our player pipeline if our milb guys continue to get pushed back behind veteran FA's?
