  1. And his salary is going UP next year not down.
  2. Exactly, Karbo! Too much weight training. Muscles are stronger, but soft tissue is precisely the same. Do players really need to be that jacked up?
  3. We've had a third base coaching problem for years. Just now noticing. And when you are having a hard time manufacturing runs it'd tempting tobsend them home with crossed fingers and hopes of a bad throw
  4. They want to get him more abats. That's the reason they have had him leading off. It's all about getting as many at-bats as possible. I doubt he will set the world on fire next week. Sure hope he starts next year in AA though
  5. I Lewis is in a slump. Pitchers are figuring out how to pitch to him, and it will take time to adjust. I'm not particularly eager to talk about trading Lewis because we have 48 million dollars hung around our neck in two untradable players. Two months ago he hung the moon and now he's odd man out. This is just frustration from us because the Twins are stinking it up ..
  6. And he should probably remain there for the years after ..
  7. Jenkins is 19.5 and will turn 20 in February. I think he will extend his stay at AA next year, ending the season in STP. He will debut at the beginning of 2026 or by June. Emm, the beginning of next year or by June. Keaschall's success depends on how his arm recovers and whether he can repeat it next year. He is right-handed, while Jenkins and Emm are left-handed, so he has that going for him. I wouldn't mind seeing him at 1B if his power continues to grow. I just don't want to rush Jenkins because he's going to be special when he's ready ..
  8. Well, they won't have to worry about that next year
  9. Did I miss the increase in salary due to arbitration in there? I piss people off every time I say this, but we don't have the salary to afford 37 million going to one player, especially when we have young players like Lee/Lewis to step in. You have to analyze it in terms of how much better Correa is, to say, a young developing Lee. Then compare that to what an extra 37 million is payroll would mean to the team. But it doesn't matter because Correa isn't going anywhere so let's just hope he can stay healthy and hope he performs like he did earlier this year. Will be interesting to see how many dislikes I get .. A bunch I'm sure
  10. Pretty soon, there might be a long line to get in the drive line. I wonder if they have a drive-through..
  11. Guess I an see that if your pen needed a rest.
  12. Am I dreaming, or have Ober twice and Mathews once been left in until they gave up nine or ten runs in the first few innings? Is there a need for that? A learning season? Because it seems like too slow of a hook to me.
  13. Man, this Andrew Morris kid from Texas Tech is only 22 and has already made it to AAA with a spectacular ERA wherever he's been. He'll be in the majors next year for sure, so now we have Lopez, Ober, Ryan Festa, Mathews, Verlander, and Morris as starting pitchers. I suggest we try and trade Paddock away ..
  14. This is why I never liked the Correa signing. And it wasn't about Correa himself. It's because of the risk you take putting such a high percentage of your available funds into just one player, and even worse, if it's an older player with a very long-term contract. Would it be worth it if Correa had a 4.0 war every year and played 90% of the games? ABSOLUTELY But that's like putting all your money on number 8 at the roulette wheel and having them spin. Small market teams should never put themselves in that position. That said, we own Correa for the foreseeable future so here's to him coming back for the play offs and giving us 4.0 WARS until the day he retires.
  15. I call 10 away games with the three teams we are competing with for a wild card birth (KC, CLE, Boston): a come-to-Jesus month.
  16. Well, next year we are stacked at position playes, stacked with starting pitching. The bread crumbs they let us spend in the offsean needs to go to relievers. After complaining about all the money we spent on Correa all of last year I promised I would not say anything this year unless he gave me reason to. Which he did not. But his lack of health is still a concern and he's only getting older. And I also blasted the front office all last year for not giving Larnach a fair chance ..
  17. exactly! No one is going to claim him off waivers. You would need to negotiate with him like any free agent ..
  18. Too early for that kind of talk .. Maybe someday if he can win a World Series ..
  19. Next year, move Lewis to the outfield as a right-handed bat to more than take Margot's place. Move Correa to third to keep him healthy, Lee to short, Miranda to first base and I'll man second 😄
