  1. Great to see Castro get his 30th stolen base of the season. But as was noted, that's the most for a Twin since Ben Revere stole 40 back in 2012! That's a lot of years!
  2. Seth, what do you think will happen to Larnach next year? It doesn't seem like he's much of a factor in the Twins future plans at this point.
  3. Yeah, that was a great catch, followed by a crazy mental mistake that will no doubt go viral online. Like you said, let's hope that's a BIG learning moment for Martin!
  4. Meanwhile, Yunior is still hitting those home runs at a higher level. He now has 30 for the season? Wow!
  5. Thanks for that article. I was still under the impression that, as you wrote, Julien's "glove left so much to be desired." I sure hope this "turnaround" is for real. His hitting skills are definitely welcome on a team that needs more players that can put the ball in play.
  6. Thanks for a very interesting article. As a longtime baseball fan, it's hard not to root for guys like Chris Williams.
  7. Hey, no harm in being wrong, or even just plain dubious that Lewis would turn into a sold MLB player. I lot of us were wondering when or if Lewis would become the player we hoped he would become. After all those injuries he endured I too had become a bit skeptical that he would even become an everyday player. Ha! So happy to have those worries evaporate! Sure, it's still early in the process, but what an impressive season so far! If Lewis can stay healthy he should become a perennial All-Star caliber player. Go Twins!
  8. Miranda seems like the odd man out, or a somewhat forgotten player at this point. With Royce Lewis looking great, and Brooks Lee knocking on the door, will the Twins even want or need to have Miranda around next year?
  9. Hey, give the guy credit for still playing. He could end up back in the majors before it's all over.
  10. Lopez seems like a very astute and super intelligent player. If he can put it all together and be more consistent (avoiding the gopher balls) I think he could end up being a top of the rotation type of pitcher. But he's not quite there yet. In any case, I'm happy to have him and even though we lost Arraez, I have no regrets about the trade at all.
  11. Any idea what will happen with Larnach? Will he be called up for the final month? Or will we see him with a different organization next year?
  12. Where has this increase in velocity from Varland come from all of a sudden? Is that for real, or some sort of temporary blip?
  13. Kudos on an excellent review for the week, especially the extra updates on all of the prospects. Great stuff!
  14. Well, if there was any doubt, Walker Jenkins looks like he is for real!
  15. I think most of us are fans of Polanco, but his health and durability going forward remain a big concern.
  16. A healthy and productive Polanco would be a huge benefit for a Twins playoff run. As he's showing us in recent games, he can be a difference maker.
  17. I say, more power to Gallo and anyone else in the lineup who wants to hit homers. Cleveland is basically giving up by using their catcher to pitch a few innings, so I'd go ahead and take advantage of the situation. It's still a real game.
  18. I'm not a fan of using position players for mop-up duty in these sort of blowouts, but in this instance I especially hate the way it was done by Cleveland, using their catcher to pitch 4 full innings!? Honestly, I hope that Cleveland is fined for doing that. I understand the "strategy" by Cleveland, but that doesn't make it any more tolerable. And if you resort to doing stuff like that, and if I'm the Twins, why not try and hit more home runs!
  19. Count me in the Solano camp too, but Kepler's recent performance has also been very, very good. I was one of those who wouldn't have minded the Twins trading Kepler away a month ago (or maybe just giving him away; I really don't think he had much trade value at the time), but he has certainly turned things around lately. Great to see both Kepler --- and Solano --- getting some timely hits.
  20. Good point, platooning has obviously been a factor, but key players such as Lewis and Kiriloff and Polanco being on the IL even more so.
  21. Atlanta simply has an amazing team this year. The power, plus pitching, and yes even defense. My guess is that they will easily beat our home run record. In retrospect it's hard to imagine how that Twins team hit so many home runs, juiced ball or not. Seems like a distant memory at this point in time.
  22. Man, sign me up for the Willie Joe Garry, Jr. fan club. This guy is exciting to watch! The fans in the right field seats seem to be fans of his too!
  23. Can we keep Solano as the leadoff batter from now on? Great game, but he's been a solid hitter all season. And as others have noted, what a bargain!
