  1. In his last five games, Correa has one run I know I'm nitpicking, but what does that mean? Only one RBI, or only one run scored? Or maybe something else?
  2. Despite the fact that Buxton is getting older and his defensive metrics are down, I don't think we've seen the last of him in center field. Guys like Keirsey and Rodriguez don't seem like the ideal replacement candidates, at least for next season. And as others have noted, there is no way the front office is going to go out and sign any other Michael A. Taylor or Manuel Margot type backups for next season. Even with Kepler gone, I think our outfield is mostly set for next season.
  3. Sure, we can still sneak in and make it as a wild card team, but a very weak one. I love the Twins and HOPE they will catch fire and show signs of life, but my faith and enthusiasm are all but extinguished at this point.
  4. Yeah, they have been better lately, but sometimes I have no idea at all who is pictured. Thanks for that! He really is a tiny guy!
  5. Seems like a good coaching staff would notice problems like this.
  6. And as another poster suggested, even the lack of productivity from the "bat first" players is part of the problem too.
  7. Good memories indeed! I recall when Tovar accomplished that feat and what a big story it was at the time. Plus, he was a good all around player.
  8. I'll miss these minor league reports too. Always interesting. But these mystery photos still drive me up the wall! Who is this one?
  9. Brutal losses, just brutal. At least the Cleveland games were close ones, and there was some expectation that we might win some, of not all of those games. Not so in this series. Ugh. So, when does the Timberwolves season start?
  10. Congratulations to all of those young men for winning the award. Good to have such quality people in the organization.
  11. I was just about to comment on his fast rise through the system this season. I honestly couldn't have told you who he was 5 months ago. But yeah, a good story. And like you, I'm also wondering if the Twins see him as a legit prospect or not?
  12. Great to hear that they both pitchers are throwing again, but it's so late in the season, that I'm not even sure that it matters at this point.
  13. I don't have the answers, nor any explanation for the meltdown, but it's just very very disturbing that almost every player we were raving about or had high hopes for a few months back --- Zebby, Festa, Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee, and SWR --- has suddenly become a liability. Okay, we can forgive the rookie pitchers for putting them under pressure so quickly, but the rest of the team needs to step up ... and obviously that hasn't happened.
  14. On the bright side, a very good outing from Ober, some clutch hitting by Correa, a great catch by Margot, but yet another frustrating loss. Sigh. Sure, there were lack of clutch hits, and giving up those timely hits to the other team, but at this point I also have to wonder if we are also getting out-managed by the other teams.
  15. I think there could be some merit in your theory. I think this era's emphasis on bulking up and working in the weight room may be counterproductive for some (but not all) players.
  16. Any updates on his status? Will he pitch anywhere in our system next year?
  17. I just double checked; it was Anthony Prato who was sent off to Developmentland.
  18. And think there was yet another player in the Twins system who sent off to get developed earlier this week! Hey, never too late for development!
  19. I think that statement is very accurate. Finding the right arms, either in our system or elsewhere, is the key to building a good bullpen. Sure, we can fork out money for "name" arms but that doesn't always guarantee success. I mean, look at the Guardians bullpen, and they aren't stocked with a bunch of big free agent arms either.
  20. It's looking like he will win another batting title this year too. What is that .... 3 seasons in a row with 3 different teams?!
  21. I Hope you are right about Culpepper. His last games were impressive.
  22. Gibson has pitched better than I thought he would this year in St. Louis, And Berrios is looking very good in Toronto.
