  1. Even last month, his average exit velocity improved. Exit velocity improvement! The season is saved!
  2. Buxton seems to have found the fountain of youth this season, playing with energy and enthusiasm, and producing some very positive results. Stay healthy, Buck!
  3. Umm ... not likely at this point, or ever! Speaking of which, where is Lopez these days?
  4. That is assuming that the coaches have actually made suggestions or tried to help them. I honestly have no idea what was done or not done for these guys. In any case, both players have had their chances. Time to move on.
  5. More games like this from Connor Prielipp, please! Of course, we hope he will also be able to increase the number of innings he is allowed to pitch, but the early results this season are very encouraging!
  6. Not an encouraging first game back for Lewis. No hits is one thing, but if he looks like he will "fall apart" at the plate, as you noted, that's a much bigger concern.
  7. That's been a very rare combination so far this season. Hope we see more of this good stuff in the coming weeks and months.
  8. Way too early to even think about this idea. Amick is certainly a possibility at that position. But long-term solution? Not so sure about that. Gotta get him called up first to even start that discussion.
  9. Yeah, that didn't last long. I figured that Gordon would get a chance and stick with another club at some point. Are there some other issues that we haven't heard about?
  10. I live on the other side of this crazy planet so I can't get to Target Field so easily. What is a poor suffering Twins fan to do? I've tried deep breathing exercises, yoga, and even consuming more beer. Nothing is working. I fear that I may need start listening to Kenny G albums at full volume.
  11. Khadim Diaw having a quietly good season so far, batting .297 but with an impressive OPB of .471. No homers yet, but he's drawn a lot of walks and stolen 4 bases. But where has he been playing most games, as catcher or in the outfield?
  12. Sad, but not a total shock. He hasn't been very effective the past year with the Tigers. I really liked him when he pitched for the Twins. I hope he still has something left in the tank and can pitch again, but at his age it's looking unlikely.
  13. Good recap of White's career and time with the Twins. I hadn't known that he was in the Mitchell report as a steroid user. A lot of good that did him. He spent most of his time with the Twins on the Disabled List, earning him the dubious nickname of Ron "DL" White among many on this site. Sad way to end a once very promising career when he had been a hot prospect with the Expos.
  14. It's still early in the season, but Cory Lewis is off to a brutal start, He's giving up as many hits as he is striking out batters. I know throwing the knuckleball is going to be a very unpredictable thing to control, but Lewis was able to throw the pitch with better results last season. What's the difference this year?
  15. Another impressive game for DeBarge. This time it's for real! Mike Ford also on a hot streak, but even when hitting a home run it looks like it's a struggle for him to run the bases.
  16. Yeah, it's nice having Kiersey for his defensive skills especially, but at some point in the near future it would be cool to give McCusker a chance with the Twins too.
  17. One Twins Prospect May Be Following in Luke Keaschall’s Footsteps Yikes, I hope this doesn't mean that he's due for a freak injury sometime in the near future! Okay, just kidding ... and knock on wood. Good writeup. DeBarge is definitely playing well and making more of us pay attention. The fact that he's already known as "a gamer" is also a bonus. I hope he keeps impressing with his play.
  18. Good list. I had forgotten that Knoblauch was such a good base stealer. Or even Gladden, for that matter.
  19. True. No comparison at all, and it's unrealistic to expect such excitement about the MLB draft ... ever. In the NFL and NBA the draft picks go straight to the pros, but in baseball it's a MUCH longer process, and also more fraught with uncertainty. What can you do? They are just very different types of drafts.
  20. Man, watching that video clip of Ryan's sweeper: what a wonderfully nasty pitch! Great outing Joe!
  21. Playoff hopes for the Twins dead at this juncture? Not at all. Sure, it's been a very frustrating and disappointing season so far, but another few series sweeps like we just did with the Angels, and the ship will look good in the water again.
