I'm shocked but trust it was the right decision.

Hendriks just seemed like a guy who needed some more big league innings to work things out.

Actually... Confidence was what he needed in my opinion.

 

I was wrong and right in the same post. Trusting it was the right decision was wrong and more big league innings was right. 

 

It's pay off to play both sides of the fence.

If this team had Guerra, Neshek and Hendricks in the bullpen, I think they would be in first place overall in the wild card hunt.

 

All three were given up so the Twins could keep guys like Fryer, Bernier, butera and another million crappy players with no upside on the 40 man.

This is another example of why all pitchers should be tried in the bullpen if they fail as starters.  Hendriks wouldn't have profiled as a guy to have bullpen success though.  He had an ordinary fastball and none of his secondary pitches were great.  Usually guys that succeed have a better fastball and greatly benefit by not having to worry about their 3rd or 4th best pitches.  But just like Perkins his fastball velocity jumped considerably and is no longer ordinary.

I'm sort of glad I didn't post in it. Nothing like having 2 year old dirty laundry aired out. (That said, I was a supporter of Hendriks...)
