A 2nd for Kirk and LV 4th? Who says no?

I think Vegas says no. That franchise is finally building some good will, but it's about to evaporate with a run of games against San Fran, Seattle, Denver and a good Cleveland defense. I think they'd happily trade him if they could after the Week 13 bye, but I'm thinking they're going to let Cousins take the heat for the Raiders falling out of contention so that they can let Mendoza try to play savior.

But a 2nd is still a good pick, so perhaps they'd take the bait.

Alec Lewis has been carrying the water of the Vikings today... Saying they've been looking at the RB market, but with "money being tight" they may not have the ability to trade for JT.

I find the excuse to be bogus... But that's the way the Vikings have operated for a long time. Half-measures just like Tommy P.

Ya. They can find money if they need to, but yes, the press is shockingly carrying their water ...

Couldn't get the quote to copy ... But KOC said he wants to be as smart as possible, because he knows what the new GM can do in the upcoming off season.....

So they better sell. Because that message is that they aren't buying.

We say this a lot with the Twins, Mike. Pick a path and commit to it. That’s all I ask. Standing pat is unacceptable when other NFC teams are loading up for a playoff run.

If Teasley doesn’t think this is the team to go all in with, that’s fine. Sell off the veterans and move forward with a rebuild. God knows we have been overdue for one anyway.

Right. Pick a lane. They drafted all defense. The DC is a genius. Trade guys there and Addisson and hockenson, or, go get a QB.... And OG.

I kind of think they are two different values.  Brissett got benched on a bad team that is surely not thinking about the playoffs. And he's been a backup for the majority of his career. The Raiders all seem happy and excited to be playing meaningful football again and Kirk is currently their King. I'd bet you'd have to offer a 2nd for Cousins and the Raiders still might decide to keep him.

The money excuse might be that Teasley doesn't want to push in any more money to 2027 because he has plans to make a lot of moves (we have plenty of FAs to retain) and will need every dollar.

And I don't think he would be allowed by the Wilfs to trade away any impact players (he did try to trade Jennings reportedly) at 6-1, they wouldn't let the likes of Van Ginkel/Cashman/Rodgers get moved in the midst of how well the defense is playing. This isn't like when KAM chose not to move Danielle Hunter for a high pick in 2023 when our season was falling off a cliff. I don't think standing pat is necessarily a bad move... there's only so much that can be done to fix a bottom 5 offense mid-season. What happens over the 2027 offseason is when I will start my judging of Teasley.

Brissett is playing at the level of a backup QB (5.7 Y/A and 7 picks!), whilst Kirk is having a renaissance season and leads the league in TD passes, I wouldn't say he's a top 10 QB but he's close to it right now. Their trade value has nothing to do with each other.

Getting picks for next year helps the future. Trade Addison.

I agree, they won't. The no sell crowd reads just like twins fans..... Not accusing you of this.... But others.

If an Addison trade happens I think it'll take place over this offseason, this should be the decision year as they either extend him or trade him. I think we had this conversation last year too, but they just don't seem willing to let him go mid-season and let the WR room be bad outside of Jefferson.

I just saw a blurb from the Rams Athletic writer saying that they're likely to trade for a receiver and Jennings is on a short list for them - given Teasley tried to deal him last week, seems like he might be gone sooner than later. Then they're not going to also trade Addison and only have Jefferson-Felton-Price... and cooked OBJ.

But no 6-1 team has ever been a seller. And there's zero chance ownership is going to let this team be the first and watch a half empty stadium the rest of the year.

Maybe, I'm simply saying it's a piece that could help us gauge that value.  The Raiders also, unlike the Cardinals, have a 1st overall pick sitting on the bench that they may want to clear the way for.

There is no doubt Kirk is going to be more valuable, but is that a 2nd?  I don't know.  He's a rental they almost certainly will let walk at the end of the year.  Maybe they figure they squeezed all the juice out of that lemon and walking away with 8 competent games and a 3rd rounder is a good deal for them.  Maybe they just want something better than the projected comp value he generates.

If I were a Raiders fan I'd be a little annoyed we weren't willing to dump him for even a Day 3 pick.

I'd love to snag one of the Rams tight ends, but I doubt they move one of them.

I don't think Kirk gets a 2nd (because NFL teams think their mid-round picks are more valuable than they actually are), but putting myself in the Raiders shoes, I wouldn't see any benefit to moving him for less than that, and maybe not even that.

Woof. Another rookie draft class with very little impact in year 1.

When I point this out on a Vikings site, one guy tells me how stupid I am because rookies can be waited for for years..... Unlike every other team..

Terrible draft. Again.

Nit-pick, Tiernan only played 11 snaps which is 2.5%.

Yeah, the common defense is "you all called Dallas Turner a bust because you weren't patient", but that glazes over many things like how A) some prospects should be able to play right away and others need development time and B) Turner was one of the youngest players in the draft whilst Banks was the 4th oldest in his class, oh and most importantly C) the vast majority of prospects who do nothing in Year 1/2 end up busting, guys who break out in Year 3/4 are the exception and not the rule.

I'm still a believer in parts of the class, I think Golday can be a very good player but LBs develop slower than other positions so you need patience for a guy like that. But Banks and Orange shouldn't be getting man-handled like they have been, your two 3rd rounders shouldn't be projects who might contribute in 2028, and they blew Day 3 picks on a mediocre FB that they've stopped using, a speed-only RB when plenty of good RBs went rounds 4-5 (Coleman, Washington Jr, Johnson), and a non top-500 prospect center who wasn't even good enough to be kept on our 16 man practice squad.

I generally like Mike Florio, but when he gets on a pet topic, he will not let it go.

His new one, the Vikings should trade for Daniel Jones, is absolutely boiling my blood. Daniel Jones is bad like Kyler Murray, except Jones turns the ball over significantly more.

And even if he didn't the logic is baffling. The Vikings dumped JJ McCarthy largely because he couldn't throw the ball over the middle of the field. Then they sign Murray on the cheap, who, guess what, ALSO can't throw the ball over the middle of the field. So trade for Daniel Jones, who's maybe best known for NOT being able to throw the ball over the middle of the field?!?!? Sure, might as well give the Colts Justin Jefferson straight up for Jones because he'd still be of no use in this offense.

Wentz officially the starter for MNF. I bet the offense is going to look a lot more functional this week. Watch us put up a 40 burger against this terrible Bills secondary

I think that depends on how you feel about Mendoza.  I just think a mid round pick is more valuable than chasing a low upside ceiling.

I think it will look more functional, but let's not forget we scored 9 points on Wentz's last start... and he has a high propensity for turning over the ball.

The league handed you a gift by having Washington and Coleman on the board with that Philly pick to make up for the blunder of the 2025 draft....and you took a safety you've had inactive every single game.

God I hope Teasley changes our drafting.

Or they could have taken “one of us” Emmett Johnson who looks awesome with his limited touches in KC. But we took a FB instead in the 5th round…
