With rosters formally expanding to 28 on Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins made the move official and added a familiar face.

Shortstop Ben Ross had his contract selected from Triple-A St. Paul and will be making his MLB debut, while right-handed reliever Garrett Acton was also called up from the Saints. To make room for Ross on the 40-man roster, outfielder Kyler Fedko was designated for assignment.

Ross' addition was known before rosters expanded Tuesday. The 25-year-old has a .274/.378/.506 slash line with 20 homers and 71 RBIs over 118 games between Double-A Wichita and Triple-A St. Paul.

Acton has pitched in four games this season for the Twins, allowing five runs (two earned) over 6⅔ innings.

Fedko made his MLB debut with the Twins this year, appearing in 14 games but going 0-for-16 with a run scored and an RBI. He did walk twice and struck out eight times.

I feel badly for Fedko getting released while he recovers from surgery.  He will likely have a difficult time catching on with another team anytime soon...if ever.  that said, he had no major league future with the Twins.
