IIRC, that was when Perkins would finally wake up and go down to the bullpen.  I like Perkins as an analyst, but I think sometimes he does his closer routine in the booth as well and doesn't really wake up until the 5th or 6th inning.

I know WAR isn't everything.  But if you use bWAR, here is the list of best Twins players this year by bWAR:

1. (tie) Buxton, Bradley (3.1)

3. Jeffers (2.8)

4. (tie) Clemens, Ryan (1.9)

Next on the list is Gomez with 1.7.  Not bad for a waiver wire pickup.  Buxton, Jeffers, and Ryan have all had long stints on the IL.  If your best ability is availability, Clemens is leading a team MVP argument.  His ability to play all over the field gives Shelton flexibility in filling out a lineup.  Similar to what we got to see from Willi Castro, and I believe Castro WAS the team MVP that year.
