Abel pitched well from the sounds of it.  3IP, 2H, 5K, 0BB.

ERod hit his 2nd HR of the spring (in 2g), while Wallner is 0/4 with 4Ks.  I know it's early, but ERod may push Wallner out of a job.

Prielipp left in the middle of an inning. Pitch count or physical problem?

My guess is pitch count.  He was already up to about 40 pitches.

Wallner is in midseason form.

Prielipp was a little wild, but he got out of it and was really effective with the fastball. Needs to locate the slider a little better, but all in all, it was a good outing for him.

I didn't hate the fact that the Twins signed Urshela to a minor league deal and an invite to camp. I still have a place in my heart for experienced vets, and his previous stint with the Twins was good. But he's started, what, 3 games now? And no hits at all. Too early for a verdict, but concerning.

Noted also. The other SS Kriedler has shown up so far. Wallners incompetence has worried me more than Urshela so far

It's still really early in spring and I don't want us to get ahead of ourselves.  Two of his ABs were against Tolle and Skubal. Tough ABs for a left handed hitter, but still something to note that he has only put 1 ball in play.

AJ Hinch gave Abel some high praise after the game yesterday. He said "it's pretty electric stuff" and "it looks like he is going to be a problem to deal with"

Cool little graphic from Prielipp's 1 2/3 today.HB3cPWKXgAAX2qY.jpg

This is interesting. Is this available to the public?

If there are pitchers you don't want to see get close to a roster spot, like Morris, hope they get shelled when they pitch in spring, like Morris.

Well the split squads are down by a combined 15-1 in the middle innings. Maybe a good day to have no TV broadcasts.

In the BAL game, Morris didn't have a good start.  gave up 4R in 1.1 IP.

In the TB game, MacLeod gave up 1R, 0H, 1K, 2BB over 1.2IP, so by the looks of it pitched ok.  Merryweather was pulled after 0.1IP due to injury and Darren Bowen came in, who is a AA pitcher.  He was facing TBs MLB lineup and got shelled.  Gave up 5R over 1.1 IP.

Yeah, it's still VERY early in the spring, but I'm really hoping that both Abel and Bradley earn those spots in the rotation.

It's odd Bailey Ober has yet to start a game. I'm curious about his velocity. A couple years ago he came out just balling in spring training.

Fundy is the opener for today’s game against Boston.

This lineup looks the most like last years batting order yet.. and it doesn't inspire much excitement. Urshela again.. read into that what you will

I think Urshela has played everyday, so far.  I wonder if he has a very early opt out, and wants a quick answer from the Twins if he's going to make the team(?)

Makes sense, time to latch on elsewhere .

And the Jeffers inning ending DP.. so 25.

Last years lineup last year results

Glad Buxton is ok after hbp

These scoring 'opportunities'  are just as painful in spring training as they were last year.

1-7 w/risp; 6 lob so far

Related note, 3 HBP today, and Wallner left immediately after. Any word?
