It’s cliche but we need a football guy to come in and bring a fresh set of eyes to the whole operation. We don’t need a number crunching finance guy again.

Honestly, we just need a draft guy.  I'd even be ok with a tandem operation where Rob primarily handles contracts.

We need a dude who lives and breathes football.

I'm curious now if Rob bows out if he's now shown interest in the GM role, and he's passed over as a long time internal promotion candidate? If it comes to that I'm okay with losing him as a cap expert. I think promoting him to GM is the worst decision we could make in the short and long term.

Can’t find it, but I saw an insider say the Vikings could promote Rob to something like President, AND hire a GM.

Not sure if outside GM candidates would go for that. But maybe, if Rob is basically back to doing the books but with a fancy title.

Titles are made up anyway so if that's all it takes, and he goes back to his behind the scenes contract details guy, cool. Now that he got a sniff of what it's like in the draft war room, I have no interest turning this current triangle of authority into a square of authority.

I like that idea.

This is possibly a Rooney Rule interview, but he seems like a legit candidate for GM.

First instinct would be that I don't want anyone in the Bills draft room and I don't want anyone who used to be in the Vikings draft room. However, it says he was with the Vikings as a scout 11 years prior to being hired by the Bills. Presumably that would mean he started in 2006 with Spielman until 2016 or maybe through the 2017 draft.

Anyway, the team did draft significantly better back then. In fact, between Harrison Smith, Danielle Hunter and Eric Kendricks, more defensive players drafted in those bygone years started games last season than all the defensive players KAM drafted combined did.

The success under KAM/KOC has been inarguably built on moves that happened long before their tenure started - Jefferson, Darrisaw, O'Neill, Smith, Hunter, Metellus, etc.  The only saving grace has been free agency.

Are you kidding me? Candidates from the Titans (who was the Raiders GM in 2022-23) 49ers and Chargers.

With all due respect to SF and their consistent winning, none of these organizations have been very good on draft day lately. Why aren't they interviewing people from organizations that are good at drafting? No one from the Rams or Seahawks? Not the guy from Philly?

Throw in the guy from the terribly drafted Bills franchise, and one might come to the conclusion that whomever they bring in is going to merely be a figurehead that defers to KOC on everything.

It's a base $8M deal, which is very cheap for a receiver with the stats Jennings has put up the past two years. Add in that he's an elite run blocker, and he's a great fit as WR3.

Ninja'd by Mike... seems like we are on the same wavelength!

Im not sure a 3rd WR is terribly valuable in this offense and with these QBs, but I’ll take the downfield blocking.

Surprised Jennings came here though. After spending most of his career in the shadows of Samuel and Aiyuk, he finally got to be the #1 last year. Seemed like there might have been a dozen or more teams where he could be th #2, if not #1.

Seems like his market was limited.  That might be due to the fact that there is legendary levels of hate for him.

Just a tweaked knee away from only having one WR.... Until now.

“Around the rest of the league, he’s one of the least popular players,” Sports Illustrated’s Grant Cohn wrote in December 2025. “And that’s because of his mouth. He talks a ton of trash. He also starts fights by blocking defensive backs so violently that he pushes them off the field. But his mouth is the reason he got punched in the groin two weeks ago when the 49ers faced the Panthers. And his mouth is the reason Browns defensive tackle Shelby Harris was so upset with Jennings last Sunday in Cleveland.”

I think Gray sounds like a viable candidate. I love former scouts sitting in the GM chair. Provided, or course, that they were actually GOOD scouts. I don't think he's a "ROONEY RULE" candidate. The Vikings have been at the forefront in the NFL in regard to black coaches, head coaches, and even president of operations.

I was kinda hoping for Patton coming back. And I'd be looking really hard at someone in the Philadelphia FO.

*Recent rumor is Brazinski won't be the actual GM, but will get a different promotion to something similar to head of football operations.

I would have expected him to land something around $15M a year, given what other receivers got paid around that much in recent free agent markets. He would be WR1 on a team like the Dolphins or Raiders, so it's curious to see him sign for so cheap. This is the first I've heard about the drama Levi is sharing.

Jennings is a very nice WR. He's had a solid career thus far and been a quality producer. But he's never had a season that determined he was EVER going to be a #1. He's had ONE season that looked like a legitimate #2, and one season that "teased" at being a #2. So he is really a high quality #3 who is about as perfect a fit as the Vikes could find anywhere. This is a GREAT signing!

Is he some sort of jerk for being too aggressive? I just don't know enough beyond the one big incident and rumors. I know NFL DB HATE being blocked to their back, or out of bounds. It pisses them off. DB jaw just as much as WR do.

What I do know is the Vikings are generally very careful about bringing in quality people to the organization. I doubt Jennings would have been targeted if he was a jerk.

I repeat this is a GREAT signing for 2026. It also allows the team to work through the roster like Felton, CAN he take a step forward, or was he a blown selection? Price is an ELECTRIFYING return man, but is also a WR from a 2024 Indiana team that went to the playoffs. Can they harness that talent to also be a useful wideout? That's part of the reason he was signed for initially. But there's a collection of rostered WR and UDFA to work through in camp. A couple of them offer interesting size/speed talent that is interesting. We might find a progressive steal in that group, or Felton and Price just blow the competition away.

Either way we have a 3 headed monster at WR for 2026. Maybe even a 4 headed monster if they turn Hockenson loose now instead of using so much as a blocker.

The draft class is signed except for Golday, which should happen soon.

Come June 1st, 3 weeks away, the Vikes also get another $12.5M to spend on FA due to the NFL rules. The team also has the ability to re-work O'Neill's contract for bonus $ and additional years. Why wouldn't you for a 31yo Pro Bowl OT?

Am I the only one who respects Harry's private lifestyle but is confused by a lack of announcement that he's done? He's always been a TREMENDOUS competitor! While not quite the player he once was, once he got ramped up in 2025, he was still really good! IMO, he's been watching the signings, the draft, and the Flores return saga. While he doesn't need or necessarily want fanfare, I think he's primed for ONE MORE SEASON, to go out ON TOP for a FULL SEASON.

But I don't think he's looking or expecting some huge deal for a potentially final season.

The CAP to the offseason would be the Vikings signing someone like Clowney. He would seem to be on borrowed time, but he had another really good season last year. And there's a couple other options available as well. But all the defense needs is a #3 EDGE guy to rotate in and provide solid play. And even then, Harry isn't going to demand some huge deal.

The roster isn't perfect, but it's damn good, especially with the addition of Jennings, the draft, FA so far, and an EDGE like Clowney for 1yr. Harry coming back for ONE MORE year really caps it off.

Adding a #3 EDGE is the ONLY thing missing roster wise. And they have the $ to do that. They can survive well enough with talent on hand and Flores in charge of the defense. But wouldn't we all just LOVE to see Harry play a full season one last time?
