This Toney kid is a stud. Is he a draft guy?

After further review, Malachi Toney and Kadarius Toney aren't related according to Wikipedia... Unless they're cousins or something. That's pretty crazy because Kadarius played at Florida before he was drafted by the Giants in the 1st round back in 2020... Then he caught a case of the drops with Pat Mahomes.

Pretty sure these are things you don't want to think too hard about south of the Mason/Dixon line.

Carson Beck couldn't have worse body language throughout the game.

For sure. Not a fan.

Funny though, if he leads them down for a game winning drive, I could see him going in the second round. If he doesn't I could see him going in the sixth.

It feels like the days of the 2nd-3rd round QBs are over. Either you're a good enough prospect to be a 1st round pick, or you're a day 3 pick. Otherwise they're staying in college making millions which isn't a bad thing for them.

Probably. At least for underclassmen. True seniors like Jalen Hurts could still slip though I'd assume.

Congrats indy

My question is how many more Cignetti's are hanging around in the lower levels of college football waiting for their golden opportunity?

Posted

2 years ago the Hoosiers were 3-9 and in my lifetime never been good at football. In the last 2 years they are 27-2 with a Heisman trophy winner, Big 10 championship, and national championship trophy. They're living a real life rebuild like my college days playing NCAA Football 2009 with my buddies on Xbox.

My favorite thing was Cignetti being interviewed after the game and, in response to a question about that 4th down touchdown, he didn't give typical coach-speak about trusting his stud player or whatever, he gave us X's and O's.  This guy is an accountant in deep cover posing as a football coach.

I'm surprised he was able to override his internal programming and crack a smile after the win

NIL + Billionaire = national championship.

NCAA football is officially dead after this ruling. This dude bet hundreds of thousands of dollars on sports, including betting the under on his OWN team that he was the QB of. All you gotta do now is go find a local judge to rule in your favor. What a sad state of affairs.

I'd say that's embarrassing, but it probably doesn't even crack the top ten of unconstitutional rulings in Texas this week.

This one will get overturned for sure. Forget college sports, pro sports would all be dead if the players get to bet on (or against) themselves.

Sorry, it stinks, but young men have lost their jobs and scholarships for much less. Is the NCAA and professional sports to blame for all the gambling that is helping to destroy our economy? Absolutely. But you can't get a pass for this any more than you could get a pass for killing somebody driving high because Purdue Pharma intentionally got you hooked.

The NCAA will no doubt appeal this decision immediately. But will it matter specifically for this QB? Appeals can be delayed long enough where he can finish the football season with no consequences. This ruling, and the Ole Miss QB getting a 7th year of eligibility is the outcome of a broken system.

Pete Rose has to be rolling in his grave... Wasn't too long ago when Reggie Bush got his Heisman trophy and national championship vacated because agents provided a house and car for his mom. Hell, the Gophers basketball team in the 90s got their final 4 appearance vacated because the coach allowed players to drive his car. It's amazing we've reached this Wild West stage of college athletics.

It was always sorta Wild West....it's just we lived in the town where an evil bandit ruled with an iron fist.

The NCAA screwed this entire system with greed.  I seriously don't know what light there is at the end of this tunnel.

And the shame of it is, it's really only those affiliated with the top teams in the power five four conferences that have driven this bus over the cliff. The non top teams in those conferences benefited for sure but have no clout, but the mid majors are getting eviscerated by those same top teams while actually trying to play actual collegiate sports. How many non football and non men's basketball athletes are going to be completely screwed because their schools are going to have to cut sports to afford to clean up the mess caused by the schools that could always afford to make a mess?

The answer is probably all of them.  I don't know how this landscape gets fixed, especially with so much greed still prevalent in the ecosystem.

Mind. Boggling. How can you let someone who bets on his own team play ever again?

We're clearly at a point in American history where judges are no longer ashamed to rule how their benefactors want them to rule.

Now the NCAA is once again begging congress to rig the system for them to clean up this mess. How about the NCAA instead beg congress to force judges, from district all the way up to the high court, to actually rule based on the law.

I've been saying for ten years this country is over, but some here told me in a Facebook group I was being too emotional.... When I said the court would be like this. Too emotional.... That's a heck of a straw man.
