Last interception was a good reason why Brosmer isn't the answer. The ball just didn't get there.

UFDA why Brosmer isn't the answer

The Vikings haven't had a lot of laughter seasons though. Not sure what team meets your criteria.

Eagles, rams. Philly had one losing season between super bowls. Rams have had one losing season since their Super Bowl win and are among the favorites in the nfc again

Counter point, a team should be able to get to a Super Bowl and even win one without having a laugher of a season.

Sure, but you'd have to find a QB later in the draft, and this franchise rarely drafts QBs let alone good ones later in the draft. If we wanted them to cut bait on Brosmer McCarthy this early, it was almost certainly going to have to be because the season was a laugher.

At the end of the day, the Seahawks are now tied for the top seed in the NFC. Getting a bye or a home game in the first round goes a long way to getting the chance to win one. Darnold wasn’t great and he may fail again, but don’t you just have to get in and anything can happen ?

And I’m saying this as someone who was shook to pieces at how badly Darnold performed in the playoffs, but I’m not a front office executive

This is not competitive bad though. And there is zero, zero, guarantee that the team is any closer to winning a Super Bowl than they were if Sam Darnold or someone competent were still playing quarterback. We’re not even top 5 for the draft at this point

I'm not asking for a guarantee, I just want a chance.

I seriously don't want more hollow 10 win seasons where we know before the playoffs start that the Vikings don't actually have a shot at winning.

The Seahawks can absolutely get to a Super Bowl with Darnold right now especially if they get a bye or a home game. Their team is good enough where he wouldn’t have to carry them and the NFc is pretty open. That’s a heck of better chance than McCarthy or whoever gives us.

Speaking as a Vikings fan, no I don't believe, anything happen.

I don't think it's a coincidence that this franchise hasn't been to the Super Bowl since Fran Tarkington was here, and the only times they got close were when both Favre and Cunningham were actual top 1-3 QBs in the league.

Go get another top five QB year after year. At any cost. Super Bowl or bust.

What has happened to this board today, isn't being bad good and what most of us have wanted? If these young QBs weren't embarrassing, they'd probably stick with them longer than they should. Hasn't most of the board been saying all year long that being bad is better than being average?

Plus, Wentz surprisingly wasn't embarrassing.

Also, KAM should be fired.

I didn't want them to be so bad Jefferson wants to leave. Yes, if they are going to be awful, lose! But not so badly that people want to leave.

If they don't deal for a very good QB this off season, they need to deal Addison and anyone else not here for two plus years.... That's not going to be pretty. And you've wasted Jefferson for this year and likely next.

You and I sort of agree - I thought Cousins was a good QB for us but he was pretty polarizing. I like Darnold, a lot. But there was no scenario where he was coming back after the last two games. Giving the team to JJ was a risky bet but after they drafted him, it had to happen at some point.

I don't think it's fair to compare the Vikings to a handful of years with the Rams and Eagles where both had their franchise QB in-house. The Vikings are trying to find theirs.

That's my thought also. It's not fixable in one year without getting Burrow or the like.

Not to argue but the eagles didn’t take hurts until the 53rd pick in 2020 and the rams made a bold trade to get Stafford. They also had and still have strong rosters overall. It cant all be about hoping to draft the next HOF quarterback. We’re going to be waiting a long time if that’s the only hope. Seattle has Darnold but also a very good team around him that could still snag the 1 seed.

Jefferson isn't asking to leave unless they stick with McCarthy (and maybe not even then, he seems like a good guy). And they are less likely to stick with McCarthy if they are embarrassingly bad. If McCarthy was sub par but they won nine games, they'd absolutely stick with McCarthy. Him (and Brosmer) being bad is good!

If we want a new QB, and I think most of us do, the worse these guys play, the better our (and Jefferson's) chances of getting that wish. Short term pain for long term gain. Or at least an attempt at long term gain, which is all we can really ask for.

There's 5 games left. They need to let JJ start all of them so we know what he is, one way or the other. If he's putrid, we have a top 5 pick and they can draft one of the 3 QBs and re-sign Wentz so we have a qb that can get JJ his yards and the new draft pick can develop behind him.

Last week against the team's most hated rival seemed worse to me as half the team showed up today. The defense put on a pretty good show.

But I agree about cleaning house.

Fair.

How bad was the OL today? Doesn't look like they ran the ball well?

Agreed. McCarthy needs to start.

Fries was pretty bad, I thought. Skule and Brandel did well, all things considered. Kelly went out and Jurgens replaced him. Generally, the o-line wasn't great but they have had worse games. The rushing yards were mostly garbage time stats though. Early, we couldn't run at all.

He’s definitely starting after that performance. But they’re also surely bringing someone else in.

I agree he should start, but I have zero interest in him showing growth. And I have zero interest in the third QB in this draft, regardless of how they all end up ranked. Washington, NYG and Tennessee won't be drafting a QB. At minimum one of them should be drafting top two. Therefore, Vikings should be able to pick #1 or #2, if they aren't so precious with their draft picks that they won't part with them.

Quite possibly it was the worst it has been all season. So quite possibly it was the worst anyone has ever seen in NFL history.

I feel bad for Brosmer, while at the same time I don't need to see more from Brosmer.

I'd be thrilled if he turned it around. Seems like that's the best case scenario, actually.

I don't know if I was clear but I meant the Vikes could get one of the three QBs, not necessarily the third one.

Currently I see 5 teams ahead of the Vikings who are likely to draft a guy. Saints raiders browns cardinals jets. How many more games will any of those bums win?

How many QBs can the Browns draft?

As many as it takes to find one better than Gabriel and sanders. Also might be getting a new coach too
