Starting this now because it might be the Max Brosmer game. JJ to the concussion protocol. On a fourth quarter scramble he got knocked down hard and Hock helped him up. I saw it and thought, great, now he's hurt, but he stayed in. Turns out, he might be out. https://www.dailynorseman.com/minnesota-vikings-2025-season/93156/j-j-mccarthy-concussion-protocol-minnesota-vikings#comments

Brosmer starting on the road against Seattle. Good luck to him.

This is an example of why athletes can't be trusted, and how the NFL (and leagues in general) let them down as people.

I'd guess Brosmer is better, but not great.....and that the Vikings lose by at least ten. More like 12-14.

I don't blame JJ for not pulling himself or telling anyone. Hell, he saw Allen get knocked out, take smelling salts, and come back into a game last year. I assume he thinks, like all NFL players, that he can fix whatever needs fixing. But it doesn't sound good if the protocol people missed something

Agreed.

Don't sound too excited about Brosmer now. Why not see what he has in a lost season? All he has to do is clear the extremely low bar set by McCarthy. Who, if he had simply spiked the football on his 20 pass attempts last game, would have earned a higher QB rating than he finished with.

Brosmer is a statue in the pocket and doesn't have the arm strength typically required of an NFL QB.

Yet, I have a feeling the rest of the team is going to play up for him, I'm going to predict a one score game. No team scoring more than 24 points.

As long as he isn’t a panicky Pete back there, he would be an upgrade. I’m sure there will be turnovers, but it’s not like we aren’t already having them every game.

I honestly hope I'm wrong. I'd love for him to turn into Brock Purdy 2.0, go undefeated and lead us to the NFC championship game. But I don't think this will go very well. Seattle is good, they have this game circled. They'll run it up a bit. They have a good pass rush and defend the run well. And if Darrisaw is still out (I haven't seen an update on him or Jackson yet) this could be brutal. I think it'll be pretty one-sided and the Brosmer crowd will quiet down a bit. Pessimism shall reign.

Agreed. I'm now thinking twenty points....

All of these things point to KOC doing the quick release game plan which did work pretty well against Cleveland and Detroit. And while all accounts say Brosmer is a statue in the pocket and doesn't have NFL arm strength, quick reads and quick releases do seem to be his strength. If the Vikings run that game plan again, I think they'll keep it close.

And I'm rarely an optimist.

Vegas presently has Vikes +11.5

I’m hoping for a Nick Mullens type of game with hopefully 1 or 2 fewer absolutely brain dead passes Nicky boy was known for. I think we will be able to move the ball down field and Brosmer will know where the ball is supposed to go on a play

and it opened at +1.5

Ten point swing.

A couple other big line moves this week too. How long has this been a thing? when I was following this stuff closer it would only be a couple games a week that maybe moved a few points, because oddsmakers were pretty good. Are they this bad at their jobs now?

No way they are worse at their jobs now that it's a legal billion dollar industry. I'd guess it's somehow a way to just get more profit. Maybe they are trying to sucker in early bettors who can't help themselves, Or maybe they wanted to get some action on Seattle early because they knew it wouldn't be a hot bet when the spread go big? No clue, but I don't trust anything about this industry so I assume whatever is happening is only another scam to take more money.

The new guard is out again.  they just cannot stay healthy this year.

The O-Line seems unable to stay healthy any year. I know it's football and every team deals with injuries, but it sure seems the Vikings have a disproportionate amount of lineman go out most years.

This might be one worth skipping, unfortunately.

I'll tune in just out of morbid curiosity for Brosmer. It will be really interesting if the offense looks better with a UDFA rookie like him compared to our future franchise QB McCarthy.

The million dollar question is can our defense generate a freaking turnover? We are way, way overdue for that.

I think one thing we've kinda ignored is that Flores might have a really good game plan for Darnold, since he saw him so much last year. I think we're going to lose pretty badly but there is a scenario where the defense keeps us in the game and the offense scores just enough to win.

It's possible....
