One reason to go to Target Field is after 2026, the CBA negotiations will be nasty. I will be shocked if 162 games are played in 2027…

I think it’s going to turn out like the NHL in 2004. Lost season, with major concessions made by MLBPA once the season is canceled. This sport is going to die anyway if the gap between big budget teams and league average teams keeps growing like it is.

Sad, but likely.

Worth reminding people that baseball has the most parity of any major sport. The Brewers have the best record in baseball.

On what basis are we claiming parity?

We have a gem of a stadium, great  summer weather (usually) and realistic ticket and concession prices (check other teams). For these reasons and many more, going to the ballpark should a true summer pleasure. Don't let your feelings about ownership keep you from enjoying the "Great American Pastime."

Win/Loss record. The standard deviation in win percentage is lower in baseball than it for all of the major sports.

Is that due to the nature of baseball or the financial realities of baseball?

Because you're drawing a causation where I don't believe there is one.

Eh, I don't think that's an entirely fair way of judging things. I look it in terms of who actually achieves success.

I believe there have been 13 different winners and 19 of the 30 teams that have made the World Series in the last 20 years. This is actually the exact same as the NFL that has also seen 13 different winners are 19 different participants, which technically means less parity since they have more teams, but call it even.

MLB has the same "parity" as the any-given-sunday NFL.

The salary cap is nothing but an answer in search of a problem. The owners want it for obvious reasons. And the fans are susceptible to propaganda.

I still personally believe the Pohlads will sell the team in 4-5 years when conditions are more satisfactory (and the club's valuation will be appreciably higher). Once their debt is paid off, the next big challenge is securing a new local TV deal. By '29 or '30, they'll have that deal in place -- and MLB will also have new national TV deals in place. By then, the league will also have a new CBA (possibly with some sort of salary cap). I'd imagine the Pohlads will eventually get well north of $2 billion.

Average value of a baseball team is 2.6 or so billion. Revenue sharing NFL style would dramatically increase many of the teams value. Given the many who have said they don’t want to give a Pohlad money, advocating revenue sharing does that.

I feel bad for TD. Y'all have been exceptional over the decade I've engaged with the content. But the owners make it tough for fans to be anything but apathetic, which likely decrease engagement here.

I remember pre ads here, but I know the content game has had much worse economics creating that need for ads. I worry the people at One Twins way are taking a Miley Cyrus wrecking ball to the community you helped navigate through the terrible early 2010s. by inspiring hope in the prospects.

To me it's less about giving the Polahds money but finding a way to hold accountable that the front office has created an uninspiring brand of baseball. I'm not even 30 but I miss the days of Piranha ball, crisp fielding and Nick Punto like hustle
