NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Phil Hughes is really good, apparently.
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Meh, pretty much zero chance that'll come back to haunt.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Clearly Parmelee and Hicks are jonesing for more PT No Sugar coating it... Twins should have scored at least a run. Parm and Hicks have to put the ball in play and backwards K's is a punishable offense.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Some fabulous ABs by Parmelee and Hicksee there. They are just trying to fit in with the rest of the team when they play the Yankees.

GCTF Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Not worried, Alberto Gonzalez has always been a Twins killer.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 A long time ago (when super stations were novel) I listened to Skip Carey and his former player analyst discuss "moving 'em over and getting them in". They talked about when someone would give themselves up to advance the runner and agreed that the only time would be late in a tie game. They cited a lot of baseball people and while some said it is nice to hit the ball to the right side regardless, no one was in favor of sacrificing an out for a base unless it was the probable winning run. To hear Dick and Bert (and Smalley too) blather on about productive outs irritates me no end. The fact is that even if a team gets a runner to third with one out, it is far from a guarantee that the runner will score, especially with the bottom of the order hitting.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 "hit" I'd score it an error... Can't guarantee what the official scorer will do.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Ok, we scored a run. Isn't it time to melt down and give up 3? You predicted that on spot... however it wasn't a tough one to make.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Homer Bailey with a no hitter thru 8.1 innings. Watching MLB network now.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 How did I just know Ichiro would get a roller/bleeder/chopper to get that run home?
