Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 At 6-2 the Vikings should do something additional to Cam Robinson. Detroit looks too loaded so I’m not advocating for a big swing… If I’m Kwesi today I’m calling Miami to acquire either or both of Calais Campbell and Raheem Mostert.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 I also wouldn’t be opposed to an Adam Thielen reunion and he should be very cheap to acquire. That way Hockenson isn’t the only big body over the middle of the field/red zone RpR 1

If we could upgrade RG or add an elite DL, sure, but I don't think those are likely and this team is really set up well for the next few seasons. TheLeviathan, nicksaviking, Mike Sixel and 1 other 4

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 I'd be willing to deal Assmouhga, who apparently can't play this system, and potentially Patrick Jones, though likely not. I'd love a legit RG, DT/E or CB. gunnarthor 1
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 The team has a ton of cap room next year so I'm fine giving up picks for the right player. I'm game for Calais Campbell in all aspects though. I think he's perfect - 5 technique who is a beast at collapsing pockets. nicksaviking 1
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 With how thirsty the NFL is to eat up every ounce of positive news (and cover up bad news), I have to think they didn't realize that the trade deadline was going to fall on election day, which will be one of the few times they ever get overshadowed. I recall that some teams were pushing for the deadline to be extended two weeks. I'll bet it is pushed back some time before 2028. Mike Sixel and gunnarthor 1 1
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Lions add a pass rusher, and Dallas OVERPAYS for a bad WR. nicksaviking 1
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Lattimore to the commanders....it's amazing what an elite QB can do

A 3rd and 4th, then basically swapping a 5th for a 6th.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 The trade deadline has improved tenfold compared to 10 years ago but there’s still much to be desired. Besides Lattimore it was trades for rotational guys, not difference makers. I’m not sure Lattimore is still a difference maker either. Danchat and Mike Sixel 2

I don't understand why teams that need them don't add a better third WR when given the chance for a seventh....
The Great Hambino Verified Member Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Considering the Vikings have already traded away most of next year's draft (just a first, a fifth, and Cleveland's fifth remain), I'm fine with them letting it ride with what they have. 2025 was always the target for full-go competitiveness post-Kirk anyway Also, if you want to see something truly terrifying, check out the 2025 tab here Cap'n Piranha 1

Go look at the CB depth chart, and then let me know if the team is actually set up well. Also, a fair amount of that set up is dependent on JJ being Kirk Cousins, rather than Daniel Jones. I have optimism, but if JJ is not quality starting NFL QB, we'll be pretty bad in 2025 and probably 2026. gunnarthor 1

If quality veterans are going to continue to be available for (seemingly) bargain prices at the deadline, hollowing out future drafts becomes a pretty risky proposition. gunnarthor 1
