USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 I'll lay 2-1 Margot leads off and Farmer is at 2nd base tonight, even with the season over and neither will be a 2025 Twin. Anyone? D.C Twins 1

Anyone? I dont disagree, but I would like to see Farmer back. What with all the countless Twins injuries, he does a respectable job at any infield position. I wish he would hit better, but then he probably has been coached by the Twins hitting coaches. IndyTwinsFan and Patzky 2

Im OK with him back at Target playing for another team. With TC is a big no.

hitterscount Verified Member Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 With the season over, the next thing too look forward to is what shake ups and roster moves are made this winter, maybe even sooner. This team has some talent and young promising arms in Festa, Matthews and SWR. However there needs to be changes , you absolutely cannot run this coaching philosophy back next year, and need a GM that can identify cheap talent in the field.... you cannot continue to rely on the home run while playing poor defense and sloppy fundamental situational offense. Look no farther than the next team to the east. Patzky, David HK, glunn and 1 other 4

My concern is the regression of our so called Future building blocks. I'm ready to cut ties with Julien, Kirilloff, Jeffers, and royally disappointed with Royce Lewis. Are any of them going to be usable at all going forward? glunn 1

I'm sure there's an underlying issue that Royce is too proud to admit. He can't be unaware.. if his body is that banged up he shouldn't be playing but healing. Guess I'd add Joe Ryan to that same category.. he learned the lesson about Playing Through It in 2023. He needs to be healed and ready for 2024, even if it isn't until May. No halfway crap. Correa, Pablo, Ober, Ryan, Buck, Jax. Maybe Wallner and Duran. There's your core to build around. Castro, Vazquez, Lewis, Sim, Topa, Festa, Alcala, Larnach. Maybe Miranda, Stewart and Paddack, maybe not. Probably not Jeffers or Julien. There's your supporting cast. Emmy Rodriguez, Zebby, Keaschall, Camargo, Eeles. There's your exciting up and comers. I don't know how else they brought in Manuel Margot to play CF on a major league baseball team. And how they managed to keep him around long after they determined he couldn't play CF. I just...I don't get it. Fire them. Seriously. How they managed to completely screw the pooch on the 2 most glaring holes, 4th OF (aka starting CF) and SP, and in a way that everyone knew was obvious. Royce Lewis has 500 AB's, with an OPS of .830, I think it is premature to say he is not usable. Yes his last month has been disappointing, but give him a position and let him play there every day and get comfortable. I have no idea what to do with Julien, Kiriloff, Miranda, we either have to play them or get starting caliber players in to replace them. Not the Santana's and Margot's of the world. The bar needs to be set higher in terms of expectations and stop this position flexibility and platooning for everyone nonsense. TwinsAlmostWin, David HK, IndyTwinsFan and 2 others 5

On an unrelated topic, it was interesting how Cory P was surmising how some of the pitchers may be down after the work the last couple days. If you're not available for an elimination game, I don't want you on the team. And if the coaches/managers are shutting you down, they need to go as well. mrtwinsfan, NYCTK, Tlaker and 4 others 6 1
