Small ball and fundamentals aren't important to the Twins. They'll just sit back and wait for the homerun and when that doesn't work, they'll pin their hopes on a rancid sausage gimmick.

Only speed on the team gets on base to lead-off the inning.  The pitcher uses up one of his pickoff moves....pssst Rocco----you might need to try to steal a base, because this lineup ain't gonna string a bunch of hits together.

To be fair, I suspect Correa isn't in any shape to play SS every day.

I don't think he was even in any shape to come off the IL. They just were free falling so long they activated Buxton and Correa out of desperation.

SWR fastball hovering around 91----his tank is empty.  I still think he has a chance long-term to be a good starter, but he's been asked to do too much this year.

Fair enough but unless there's risk of further injury, I'd rather a less than 100% Correa at SS if it means Double M's out of the lineup.

He's getting paid 30 million dollars. I don't care if its painful to go out there. If he's health enough to play one game, he should be out there every day.

Oh, c'mon.  I think we are just stating the obvious.  All year, we continue hitting into double-plays without even TRYING to hit-and-run or outright steal a base.  Something needs to change.  Tom Kelly, Ron Gardenhire, and Rod Carew would not approve of the current status-quo, and neither do I.

It's what they ASK for.

They don't prepare their minor league pitchers for a major league workload. SWR has been in the minors since 2018 and has a high of 113 IP prior to this season. Max of 22 starts as a Twins minor leaguer. Rarely more than 5 innings in a start.

 

Then they call him up and expect him to pitch a major league season, and are shocked to learn he's not prepared.

When I watched him at StP, the threw just with his upper body, ignoring his strong legs. Shocked with mechanics.

I don't have Bally so not sure anything has changed.

I know it’s a meaningless statistic, but Jeffers has 5 RBI since August 19. Indicative of the team just shutting down in the last 6 weeks of the season I think.
