The Big Choke. Less than a month ago they were 17 games over .500. If they just could play .500 ball.......... just win one lose one........

Ober is really getting screwed by his teammates these last games. They can't field, they can't relieve until let his baserunners score. They can't hit until the game is almost over against a very mediocre starter. Fitting that Steer started it all and Wallner can't make the play. And the fiery manager found a way to let Ober go 90 today. Stretching him out. But same old story handed down to him by the best bullpen in MLB.

He was largely a mirage. His xFIP in the first half was 4.79. He's fine, he's not great.

This. He gave up zero homers which was completely unsustainable. Regression is hitting him hard.

Matt Wallner has played over 350 games in RF in his professional career. Is that experience? Or does it not count if it's not specifically in Target Field?

RF in Target Field is very different than every other stadium. It is unusual to have a short porch in RF and more unusual to have a hard surface wall on an overhang. That said, he should have had enough practice to get used to it by now.

Zero Homeruns...as a fly ball pitcher no less. He's still pretty good, but this is this just the other side of the coin.

Yeah, I recognize there's a unique aspect to it but he's not a visiting player. The right field overhang is just a lame excuse for bad defense. He's not the worst outfielder in the league, and I'm happy to have him stay out there but he's never going to be a good outfielder. I just get so annoyed by fan boys making excuses for him. And then they always mention his arm as if that makes up for having no baseball instinct.

This team has become embarrassing to watch and listen to.The booth bragging about Wallner's arm,how about his inability to read the ball.Anyone who thinks Correa and Buxton will save the season need a wake up call.

Detroit has a far better manager and a team with far better players. It also looks like KC will take 1st away from Cleveland.

Time to check those golf reservations.

Wallner has played tons of balls perfectly off the right field limestone. If, if, if, if that happens differently, it's a whole new ballgame. Yeah, I'd hope if a whole bunch of stuff changes, it'd be a different ballgame. Otherwise, there would be no point to watch.
