The alternative is to believe the FO thinks Richards is an upgrade. I don't believe that.

I KNOW Rocco doesn't believe that, as evidenced by his usage. Just swapping out one arm you'd rather not use for another.

Like I said, it's a nothing burger of a move to replace a guy at the bottom of the pecking order who'd clearly run out of his early season luck. They didn't want Staumont any more and it cost nothing to get Richards.

Lot of ground between upgrade & optics, not sure why this has to be that black-and-white.

When the deal happened, I referred to Richards as a Participation Trophy and I stand by that assessment.

Just awful he's on this roster over Winder and Varland. Truly terrible decision making by the front office. Just awful.

He was horrible in Toronto, he's horrible still.  No surprise.  I, too, hoped he had something the Twins could tweak, but it doesn't appear to be the case.
