USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Paging Mr Puk. A. J. Puk. He did? Oh. Never mind.
Twinsfreak23 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Personally on the Stewart front, the eye test doesn't seem to be the same guy since returning from the shoulder. Prior to the shoulder injury he was 96-99 with incredible movement, usually sitting 97-98. Since his return I don't think I've seen him top 95, and with 95 location matters more.

BH67 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Lacking video, I presume that Stewart is dealing with rust but that Okert may be slipping beyond recovery for October. Clarification is welcome from those with eyes.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Almost forgot, nice throw to center field Jeffers Patzky 1

Clarification is welcome from those with eyes. Stewart throwing only mid 90s with little to no command. He's showing nothing like last year. I haven't liked Okert all season, so nothing new there. If he wasn't left handed, he wouldn't be in the big leagues

exeoud Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 I propose a new reliever ERA stat. You get credited for 0.25 of an earned run for letting an inherited runner score from 3rd, 0.5 from 2nd, 0.75 from 1st, and a full run as normal. Okert would lead the league.
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 I don't smell the patented Astros comeback in the air tonight.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Remember when Jeffers barreled pitches like that Lewis DB
exeoud Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 At least the Tigers are being dumb and throwing one of their better relievers before a bullpen game tomorrow. Parfigliano 1

Baseball certainly can use more stats (wink). I like the idea of an inherited runner scoring era stat, but the number of outs when the reliever enters the game should probably be part of the equation.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Phillies get Estevez. Boston gets Danny Janssen. Twins get "it's just like making a trade." Twins_Fan_in_NJ, Hubie29 and Patzky 1 2
