The Twins need a starting pitcher that doesn't add to payroll that is a rental and good.

The Dodgers want a top of the rotation starter and are targeting Crochet with the Whitesox.  and have DFA's Paxton

THe Dodgers could use a prospect to include in the trade for Crochet and we need salary relief.

Whitesox needs many prospects

start of a trade proposal:

Twins send Theilbar to LA (to balance the cash) and a prospect to Whitesox (not sure which prospect to include just here is the framework to be hashed out below but for now I will go with Schobel or Culpepper the starting pitcher)

Whitesox send Crochet to LA

LA sends more prospects to Whitesox. and Paxton to the Twins

I can't imagine it would go over too well around here if the Twins came away with the washed up bum and the Dodgers get the stud young arm.

You've pretty much described a normal Twins FO deal 😉

Not really, most of their trades have been fairly noteworthy. The off season trades tend to pay off while the mid season trades haven't.

The only thing noteworthy about trading for this DFA'd pitcher is that once upon a time he was a well known name.

I really appreciate your creativity Brandon. $ isn't a problem with the LAD, they like Paxton but they just need the roster spot. IMO they are hoping that he'd clear everything & that he'd not select free agency & store him at AAA. They really don't need Thielbar (they'd probably DFA him too). I believe your idea is to switch out Thielbar for Paxton, have LAD pay Paxton's salary & eat Thielbar's salary. Basically LAD is paying for our prospects to use in the trade. LAD are creative if they need prospects to fill out this trade IMO they'd do it. What is a stickler for me is which prospect? & that prospect going to CWS.

Paxton would be back of the rotation insurance, or better yet be used in a rotation with Paddack & Varland in spot start/ long LH relief

I'm not sending any prospects that help the White Sox.  Schobel, sure, okay, I don't see him as a help.  He has some trade value, but not a difference maker.  Except, I'm not spending Schobel on someone like Paxton.

I mean, Chicago is probably at least 3 years away from being relevant again right? Especially if they do trade away their good tradeable players now too.

What I'm saying is, I'm fine trading for players that will help us and giving up fair value regardless of the team.

My time horizon where it comes to the White Sox is longer than my expected remaining lifespan, sonny.  😀
