No Buck, CC4 or Miranda Warning.

Vázquez at 3rd.

SWR is not great but keeps the team in contention.

Santana pauses his slump magnificently. ¿Oye cómo va? Muy bien!

And the bullpen does what the bullpen does. Ho hum, ha ha.

Assuming a win Sunday, the Twins winning both series this week might be their best achievement prior to the All-Star break, as they find ways to prevail with several key parts missing. They also moved ahead of the Brewers tonight and have the 6th-best record in MLB.

Winning ugly. Refusing to lose. Bliss.

Some teams have bullpen games. We had an infield game.

It was a great win and you have to be excited at the prospect of Lee in a Twins uniform.

Please please please can the Twins just pick up two arms before the deadline?

Biggest problem with Brooks Lee appears to be that there's only one of him. He looks like the team's best fielder at 3rd, 2nd, and...hasn't had a chance at SS yet.

Should they call up Yunior Severino?

Exactly my thoughts. I wanted Lee to take over at 3B just because he looks more adept than Lewis, even after just a handful of games. Then he plays 2B and makes 3-4 plays that were really solid…….doesn’t seem to rely on bouncing the ball into the grass or dirt from either spot. Where does he end up on D?

Severino and a buddy to displace Camargo & Miranda (for few days)…….might damage Camargo’s ego!

I paused and just saw someone posted Castillo up and Miranda to IL.

Farmer may see 60 day IL & then, if desired, carried through September with expanded roster?

I also commend him for scoring the winning run via his base running. I do so because no one else will.

No one else will because Vazquez was out by 10 feet if they throw home instead of 2B.

SWR has had several games like this where there is traffic on the bases but he makes pitches to get out of it. His line ends up being 5 or 6 innings pitched with 2 or 3 runs allowed. Maybe he’s lucky or maybe he’s a gamer.
At this point Lee appears to be a better fielder than Royce. Nice glove and a strong arm - seems to have the instincts that good fielders have. In todays world of analytics and shifting I don’t know if second or third is the more important defensive position but whatever it is that’s where he should play.

1. No one else will because Santana scored the "winning" (3rd) run, not Vazquez.

2. More importantly, Vazquez baserunning? He gets credit for getting on base, but he couldn't go 1st to third on the following soft single to center, nor score from second on the single to right after that. They scored despite his baserunning, not due to it.

…….anybody, other than maybe Buxton gets thrown out at home ……bases loaded and infield in, anybody!!

2B made a bonehead play to allow the run to score. Don’t pull everyone in to then go for the double play…….????

I think the base hit to be on, to later extend the lead, is the point. He didn’t score the winning run but his run helped everyone’s mindset in the bottom of the 9th.

I commend him for lacing up and playing 3B…..no great plays …….a smarter opponent may have tried to continually expose him. It worked out.

Seems like Woods-Richardson is suffering from lack of support. I don't know if he is really that good but he is pitching well without much help.

They are 12-5 in his starts so he’s getting the job done - tough to get wins as a Starter these days. His WHIP swells once in a while but he did have 7K’s yesterday. His ERA is around 3.6 so that’s pretty representative of how he’s doing or “how good he is”.

Vazquez isn't a good runner, I never said he was. But he scored on a good base running move. On a sure DP with nobody out, he full-bore ran (Vazquez standard) to home. If he had been cautious & stayed at 3B he wouldn't have scored the insurance run.

Who stays at 3B with the bases loaded and ground ball to the infield? That's a force out. Everybody runs in that scenario.

…..Bases were loaded…..forced to run

If he stayed at third??

The bases were loaded.

Thank you, Chief. Like I said I didn't watch the game, I based my opinion on "highlights". I was wrong on this play & you were right.
