Erock Verified Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 For once, I really hope this is nothing.
waltomeal Verified Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Now's the time to go on record saying you think he needs surgery and not rest.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I hope it's not surgery. Shoulder pain could be something like a labrum tear... those are worse that TJ to return from.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Like, bi-lateral shoulder weakness? Or bi-lateral labrum tear? There is a difference, lets hope the former.
Vervehound Provisional Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I saw this article the other day and was pretty fascinated - trevor bauer's pitching guru is claiming he can increase velocity while reducing/eliminating injuries. wonder if the twins have bought in to any of this. Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Or, it could just be a sore shoulder... Not sure but lets speculate...
B Richard Provisional Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Hope it's just Meyer needing some rest. It would be nothing short of absolutely devastating to lose one of the few arms in this organization with #1/2 stuff. At the end of the day it is impossible to have too many arms in your system. Get well soon Alex
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Or, it could just be a sore shoulder... If it's his non throwing shoulder it likely isn't a big deal but if it's his throwing side shoulder it has to cause some concern. How many times does a pitcher have a sore shoulder and it turns out to be nothing serious?
Nick Nelson Site Manager Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Tough not to be a little alarmed by any kind of shoulder soreness for a pitching prospect.
kab21 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Or, it could just be a sore shoulder... The TD medical staff would have operated and/or amputated yesterday.
BCTwins Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Mlb.com is reporting that Meyer's MRI came back "clean." So, nothing serious, even though Meyer is still on the 7 day DL

Best to still be careful with him though. He's not a part of the Twins' present, but he's a big part of the Twins' future. Kid gloves, I say.
