Daniel Duarte claimed. Imagine this, he pitched for the Reds. Corresponding move is the DFA of Ryan Jensen.

Curious, I wonder if Jensen will clear waivers and they just assign him to St. Paul. Interesting.

I thought this was the plan from the beginning. That is, keep Jensen on the 40-man until a spot was needed and then hope to get him through to St. Paul.

Superficially good ERA for Duarte, but other stats (unsustainably low BABIP, few strikeouts) don't give me a warm feeling for continued success.

That is just a way of going for more of those crowd-pleasing double plays. Gotta keep the fans happy. It's a feature, not a bug.

Yeah, I don't like the looks of this one, but while his strikeouts are far worse than Jenson's, his walks are far better. And of the two of those categories, I'd believe in the Twins ability to improve the strikeouts more so than the walks. I have no faith in the Twins, or any club actually, to decrease the walks to a usable figure. That seems to be a losing battle just about every time.

Improving the strikeouts could just be a matter of telling him to stop throwing a useless sinker. Decreasing the walks tends to be a matter of telling him to stop being such a terrible pitcher.
