I probably would have gone with Boyle too if only because he's had less opportunity to be bad. Crazy how bad Zach Wilson is though. Rick Mirer and Ryan Leaf are perhaps two #2 overall picked QB busts of all time, and Zach Wilson's QBR is significantly worse than both of them.

Hey dont forget JaMarcus Russell I think he was a #1 pick by OAK.

I know I'm not supposed to broach that subject, but they have a bye next week so there's next to no chance he's activated to play against the lowly Bears. I have to think at some point in the two weeks between games, there will start to be rumblings about this.

It's possible, but I don't believe it's related to the contract. I think he wants to get out there and play which is why his 21 day window was opened, but the hammy is healing slower than expected. 

Activation-wise, they have to put him on the roster by next Wednesday or he's out for the year.

Try a miserable season after it looked like this might be the year they kick it into gear. Way too many moves to placate Rodgers like burning money on Lazard and Cobb, and then even bringing in Boyle because he was Rodgers' backup in GB despite the fact he is a horrible QB.

Yeah, I wonder if Salah had much input on the Hackett signing. Because if he didn't, that organization has done everything they could do to drown the guy.

I doubt Salah had any input.  There was/is zero market for the hack Hackett for any coaching position.  He's Rogers pet so OC he shall be.  Its ridiculous.

Nice to see Tampa lose to Indy since they have the tiebreaker on us, they’re now 4-7. Hard to imagine they’d be able to win out and finish 10-7. Saints and falcons are now 5-6 and we own the tiebreaker. GB could be the only fly in the ointment if they stay hot and beat the Vikings. Otherwise it looks like we’ve got a great shot, barring a complete collapse

Today was a really poor slate of NFL games. Houston vs. Jacksonville was compelling but that’s about it.

That illustrates just how brutal the NFC is this year, and why tanking never made sense.

The Panthers fired their head coach Frank Reich. What a disaster that situation became. Reich never wanted Bryce Young but the owner did.

Yeah, there are other NFL owners who are worse people, but Tepper might be the worst at running a football team. Well, maybe 2nd worst after the Bidwells. Who would want to coach in Carolina now?

There are only 32 opportunities.....so almost anyone would, I'd guess. They might have to hold their nose while doing so.....

I would guess most agents representing HC candidates will demand a 5 or 6 year contract from Carolina. That way if it’s a terrible environment, the coach will still get a ton of guaranteed cash. 

Houston more or less had to do that after firing 2 coaches in consecutive seasons. DeMeco Ryans got a 6 year deal, and so far it’s working out very well for them.

I dealt in hyperbole for sure, but they won't be getting a Sean Peyton or Jim Harbaugh. I doubt even a Brian Flores would accept that job, he'd probably want to wait for a spot that has more stability. Frank Reich was pretty well thought of, if another experienced HC, like Sean McDermott or Mike Vrabel or Brian Daboll or Mike McCarthy end up getting a surprising ax this winter, I can't see them accepting the job with that sideshow either. Still probably has to be a novice desperate to get their foot in the door.

Very true, I'm also a very willing novice. 

I just hope when the vet me, they don't dig too deep into the record of my fantasy teams.

My more rational thoughts, after the Bears fiasco (raather than the emotional ones during it).

1. Dobbs is a backup. Heck, he might be a starter for some team. But he's not a good NFL QB. He's probably in the top 25-45 on the planet, but that's not good enough to win in the NFL. He's slow to make decisions, and his ball placement is bad.

2. KOC .... still can't manage the clock and is too conservative at the end of games. I'm not sure how good he is yet, at OC stuff. The fact this team, as is, and with these TOs is 6-6 shows he's likely a good HC. He might follow the Parcell's track, get fired, and be better the second time. That largely depends on them getting a legit QB next year.

3. Cousins is making millions watching these games. Either in MN or elsewhere. I still think someone else gives him 3 years, and the Vikings won't, though.

4. I have no idea what Flores was doing at the end of the game. But, let's be real. The D has like 4 legit NFL starters on the roster. I mean, Barr and Day played A LOT....they weren't even employed 1-2 weeks ago.

5. Risner is NOT the answer at all. The OL looked overmatched last night, and I don't know why.

6. Mattison showed if there is any hole, he is a good number 2. 

7. They need to draft a QB in round 1. I'm guessing it is Nix if they only win 7 games, or Penix or the LSU QB if they win more.

8. Back to KoC......something is JUST off on his play calling, imo. But, he's in year 2 in his job, and I'm not giving up on him. At least he's making less stupid challenges.

9. If Jefferson says "I want out, not signing", and I HATE THIS, I trade him . Not trading Hunter is going to hurt when the gets one of the biggest FA deals for a DE (can they tag him again, I think not?).

10. I want to see Hall the rest of the way for sure. He can't be worse than Dobbs....but could be better.
