Foul it off, he is not walking back to the dug out .

He never touched the first two strikes  either.

I can agree that Wallner should protect on close pitches but it is insane to swing at pitches well out of the strike zone.

Rocco get the Hell out there and protect your batters,   Zero Emotion from him in the dugout

I think Rocco likes to be called, the 'Fonz'.  He wants the cool, calm, collected image to flow,

Foul off a ball??

Your brilliant strategy is to tell our team to swing at balls on purpose?? Yeah, that will solve the record breaking Ks

Wow, id suggest you take a break from baseball.

Yep, striking out because you know what the ump. will say, that is SO BRILLIANT.😂

I actually agree with this. That was egregious...perfect time to get tossed.

I do believe there is a time and place for a manager to give an umpire an earful and take the expected ejection. I have no idea what Baldelli thinks about that. He has two rookies who both have extremely strong control of the strike zone. They actually may be the best on the team . They also were called out on pitches nowhere near the strike zone. The umpire has not called those on any other batter.

Wow, just Wow. That looked intentional on the umpires' part.

I'm not disagreeing. But if you're the hitter and you know the umpire has expanded the zone you either protect and try to fight off those pitches or walk back to the dugout.

Sad, but oh so true.

The umpire has not called a single pitch that low (Wallner) or that far outside (Julien) a strike the entire game. It was clearly not expected by anyone.

In no realistic universe can you anticipate the pitch to Julien being called a strike. He hadn't expended the zone even close to where that pitch was.

He just saw Wallner strike out on a pitch down. So you can't say he can't anticipate anything

The Wallner pitch was a strike, the Julien pitch was not. And Lopez got a low, borderline strike call in the 3rd.

Baseball Savant agrees with the assessment that the home plate is very inconsistent tonight however.

Please tell me you are drunk. At least 17 beers.

You are saying that players should just swing at balls at all times expecting an ump to not do his job. Just never take pitches blatnatly out of the zone?

Yeah, again thank christ you dont coach baseball

He might coach that Tuesday night Softball league
