gil4 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I just got back from a meeting and am thrilled that the game is still on! You couldn't have wrapped up the meeting 45 minutes ago, before the blown save?
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 We are all basking in the twilight on the eve of the return of the chosen son. We need to win this one. Tomorrow a streak of unknown proportions will begin.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I hate to point out the obvious... Wear the Lucky Shirt to the meeting. Lucky shirt is 1987 World Series shirt that a secretary bought used for me about 10 years ago. I have to keep it hidden to prevent wife from tossing it. And I stopped washing it about 2 years ago because it is very fragile. Wearing it to a meeting with the mayor (and other members of the Beverly Hills "Sunshine" task force) would not be appropriate.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Not good baserunning in that instance. I wonder what Gardy said to him.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 You couldn't have wrapped up the meeting 45 minutes ago, before the blown save? Sorry. But now I am wearing the lucky damn shirt -- let's win this now.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I was at a meeting.Shaky excuse, but we forgive... this time.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 The Beverly Hills, what..? I am civic minded.

You don't give Mayors and the fine folks of Beverly Hills enough credit. Just simply tell them the story you just told us. Beverly Hills tolerated the Clampetts. Your shirt should be no problem.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Mauer's about due for a hit tonight, wouldn't we say?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 The Beverly Hills, what..? Sunshine Task Force. Its tough for us in North Dakota and Manitoba to understand. But in Beverly Hills they have a task force in place to secure sunshine all year long. it could be torrential flooding in Compton... Rodeo Drive... Bone dry.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Isn't California full of hippies who go around wearing unwashed t-shirts?
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Would Carrol have been thrown out at first?

Normally I get a little coin for brilliant consults like this, but I'll work pro bono when a Twins game against cheese farmers is on the line...
SydneyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Swarzak's only thrown 15 pitches. Couldn't he have bunted Florimon over? Seems like a waste of Herrman's AB
snepp Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Mauer's about due for a hit tonight, wouldn't we say? Or making contact for that matter.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 If we lose tonight, I am washing the shirt.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I appreciate Mauer's track record with 2 outs/RISP but I am deeply upset by that K

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Would Carrol have been thrown out at first? Probably not but you can't bet against Segura. Its a simple rule in Baseball... Ball hit toward Third Base... Stay on 2nd.

Normally I get a little coin for brilliant consults like this, but I'll work pro bono when a Twins game against cheese farmers is on the line... The shirt is 26 years old and was already falling apart when I got it. It does not have many uses left. And I cannot wear it if wife is around, because she will want to throw it away.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Or making contact for that matter. I believe the master of graphs, himself, can create one reflecting Mauer's rather curious on-again, off again contact rates this year.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Probably not but you can't bet against Segura. Its a simple rule in Baseball... Ball hit toward Third Base... Stay on 2nd. Milwaukee broadcast crew commented on the bad baserunning and felt that there was no play at first.
