Were he right handed would it help?  I've been wondering, had Gallo been the same guy, same contract, same out come with the only difference being a RH hitter would we feel different?  I think it changes several discussions, although the performance still sucks.

Assuming Gallo's performance is due to limited physical ability, I don't see him as a bad dude.  I genuinely believe he wants to do well.  He seems to have a decent personality.  If he's putting in the work, and just lacks the talent, I can't bury the guy.  If he's scamming everyone, for an $11 million salary, then that's another story. (Sarcasm)

I think Gallo could strike out in every AB for the rest of the year and Ron Davis would still remain the king.

True story...I once murdered an innocent cheap radio over an RD meltdown. I'd like to think I've matured a tad since then.

He seems like a good guy and hard worker, and probably aware that everyone knows he strikes out too much

It takes away all the questions about him blocking Wallner et al. not addressing RH outfielder in the offseason etc.  I think its much easier for some to hate him because he was brought in as an luxury extra rather than a guy the plugs a hole but has issues.  Had he been a high risk, high upside RH hitter that can play decent defense all over we would love him in spite of his failings.

I don't agree with any of that. I don't care which side of the plate he doesn't hit from.

BTW, he wasn't brought in as a "luxery extra." He got $11m and was a starter from day 1. He's 7th on the team in PAs despite a turn on the IL.

I can't stand the freaking refusal to do anything but swing from the heels. It annoys the **** out of me.

I get that.  My main question would be what is his fault vs the FO fault.  Player type is not my favorite either but hes not the one putting him in these spots.  He certainly didn't change after he got the contract.

Tommy Herr didn't trade Tom Brunansky for himself either, but I dislike him too.
