John Belinski Verified Member Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Finally Rocco moved Buxton from 3 spot, but Buxton should be on IR list until he is 100%. Twins just can not have a automatic out from a batter. I can not remember when Buxton got his last hit, but Rocco keeps saying that Buxton is healthy and ready to play. Twins won 2 games without Buxton in lineup and hope Rocco will put his best hitters in lineup. It just appears that Buxton is not at or close to 100% so should go on IR and come back healthy so be can help Twins win games. Twinsrealist1 1
Whitey333 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Rocco IS the worst twins manager since Miller. Yesterday's 5-0 game was another in a long list of his throwaway games. Games that could have been won or at least be competitive in. But he elected to sit 2 of his hottest hitters in Correa and Kepler. But we did have the now 0 for 26 Buxton in there with his usual pathetic automatic out. Yes 5-2 was fine. But three of those wins came against the AAA Oakland As and ugly ones at that. They went 2-2 against the major league Mariners. It's so hard to get wrapped up in this team. I really want to though. It's so hard because they just play mediocre baseball led by a very poor manager. White Sox up next at home. Twins will be facing three pretty good starting pitchers that have struggled at times this year. But they are 17 games below 500. A sweep should be the goal. Anything less than taking 2 of 3 is a failure. Doctor Evil and Twinsrealist1 2

When you can't control a 98mph, someone could be injured for life. 3 hitters beaned in a row clearly indicates he has no idea where the ball is going. He needs to shut himself down.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 purely anecdotal but Twins offense went back in the toilet when they inserted the automatic out (Buxton) back in the lineup. He is now pushing Chris Davis as the least productive hitter of a season. One thing to go 0-26..another is when 16 of those AB's are k's. Time to shut him down. Whatever he is doing to try and get it all back, nothing is changing. all of his AB's are weak. And yeah, having him and Gallo in the same lineup is simply giving away 2 outs every time (mostly).
msukirbycarew Verified Member Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 One loss on a successful road trip against an All Star pitcher with his A game and the boo birds are singing. This is baseball with 162 games not colloge or pro football. Lets win today! Mike Sixel and wabene 1 1
P Meyer Verified Member Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 I don't understand the criticism of Pablo. He has been reliable, eats innings, and gives the Twins the opportunity to win games. He isn't a problem.

I am starting to wonder if the Buxton hype hype hype, buy your tickets to see Buxton, hype hype, has gotten to him. It seems like it would create a lot of pressure to live up to expectations. I know the announcers, radio, tv, and post game are paid to pimp the team, and frequently go all ballistic when Byron gets a hit, "he's back now! The rest of the league better look out now." Then he goes 0-28 again. Like I said, the announcers, FO, and Rocco in postgame pressers might try backing off a bit and ease off the pressure. Winning and "team" will sell more tickets than "Buxton, Buxton, Buxton." I'm not sure that this may have affected Sano as well. Just a thought.
joefish Verified Member Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Two .500 teams doing battle. And we split with them. Just about what we expected. Acceptable. No sweep the CWS
wabene Verified Member Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I'm still in the bottom of the first, but man baby Julien and Kirilloff are just getting off each other. Knock on wood this could be fun to watch for some time Edit: I obviously don't know what thread in in, lol ashbury 1
