I love Derek Carr giving the Raiders the business.

LV: Ok Derek, you can go find a team to get traded to.

Carr: You mean I can pick a team that will either have to sign fewer free agents because of my huge salary, or I'll have to rework my awesome contract? Not to mention my new team will have to give my old team draft picks that could otherwise make us better?

LV:........

Carr: Yeah, I think I'll just wait for you to pay me 40M to go away.

Should be a fun offseason of QB movement again.

Carr should leave the loaded AFC and pick whatever team in the NFC South he wants. I’ll predict he ends up with the Panthers.

Aaron Rodgers… Is GB finally fed up with his craziness? If he does end up getting traded, I think he lands in Vegas to be reunited with his buddy Davonte Adams. He doesn’t want to follow Favre’s footsteps and get traded to the Jets.

Jimmy G… Long list of injuries now but still a middle of the pack QB. He could end up on any team in the NFC South, or Washington.

Lamar Jackson… Will Baltimore pay him Watson money? I probably wouldn’t. The chaotic path is they franchise tag him and trade him to Atlanta for a boat load of picks.

The Jets are going to be desperate for a QB… And personally I’m trying to manifest Kirk getting traded there for a 2023 3rd and conditional 2024 pick.

Truly likely to be the best part of the off season.

This all looks right, other than the Jets are MUCH better than Vegas. I do agree on the other part of that, so, not sure?

Agreed. The Jets are basically the 2018 Vikings. Playoff ready defense, with young playmakers at WR1 and RB. All they’re missing is a QB.

The Jets hired Rodgers’ buddy Nathaniel Hackett at OC for one reason, and one reason only… If they miss out on Rodgers and Carr, they’ll be pretty desperate and call around. Kwesi should answer that call.

The Jets offense is loaded. Stud young receivers and stud young running backs. Not to mention the defense looks like it might be closing in on being elite.

But I do agree that there's something about being a NY QB, and playing in that division that would give me second thoughts.

I'm guessing Aaron Rodgers doesn't want to go to the Jets? Otherwise he'd already have accepted a trade there. Man, that guy is such a dillweed. I wouldn't be surprised if whatever his plan is, it's designed to aggravate as many people as possible.

He does seem like the type of guy who wants to nurse a wound, if that makes sense. I honestly I have no idea where he wants to go. Raiders? Makes some sense with Adams. NFC South? It's wide open. Jets? Former coach and huge market would be good for his non-NFL work. I dunno. I hope he retires.

Me too, but I want to  put on my tinfoil conspiracy hat for a second.

IF Rodgers "retires" and IF the Vikings trade Cousins (both unlikely) I'll predict that Rodgers will unretire in July, forcing the Packers to cut him and his salary, then Rodgers signs with the Vikings for one season.

Not that I want that, but it would be the biggest D move he could pull and he seems to love to pull D moves.

Jimmy G. is heading to Las Vegas...

He's cheaper than Derek Carr, but is he actually any better? This just seems like a really dysfunctional franchise. Said everyone every year for about the last forty years.

My guess is that LV is where Rodgers wanted to go, but LV wasn't interested for whatever reason. Salary, draft pick compensation, head coach repellant or whatever.

Wallner to the Giants! Vegas just blowing it up? That's a heck of a piece to move....

But if they got a 3rd for 30-year-old barely healthy Wallner, I'd have to think the Vikings still could have gotten a 2nd for Hockenson.

I think we have to give up the blow it up dream, nicksaviking....

I'm not sweating that part really, it's either going to be blown up this year, or it's going to be partially blown up this year and finished off next. Seems like blowing it all up now would bring you back more equity than having guys just naturally walk next year, that's my biggest complaint about it.

But really, I probably need to see another (better) draft from this crew before I start wishing more picks to them. They're not building a contender without getting good at drafting.

Gonna be hard to judge this next one......(I liked, and still like, the trade for Hockenson).

So Aaron Rodgers is pushing for the Jets to sign both Allan Lazard AND OBJ? Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore are probably both miles better than those two. I wonder if Wilson is having second thoughts about stumping for Rodgers now that the QB is trying to bring in a bunch of average-at-best wideouts to take away his targets.

I've never had much feeling for the Jets one way or the other, but if that's where Rodgers ends up, I'm going to enjoy laughing at the disaster they went out of their way to bring to their organization.

If history indeed repeats itself and Rodgers fails miserably after a year in NY like Favre, I have zero… Zero interest in Rodgers wearing a Vikings uniform.

It's a weird move, since the Raiders just made Waller the 2nd highest paid TE on an extension that doesn't start until 2024! Not to mention, I believe there was a report saying that the Packers offered the Raiders a 2nd rounder for Waller last year and the Raiders wanted more, and now here they are, shipping him off for pick #100. The Raiders aren't making any sense to me, they went all-in for Davante Adams but downgraded other parts of the roster... they are circling around the toilet boil of mediocrity and aren't going to be competitive in a strong AFC conference.

Oh man, it's lining up that way isn't it? Especially with Kirk not getting extended. History always repeats itself!!

So long, weirdo.

I assume by compensation he meant what the Packers want back from NY. Sounds like they are demanding several first round picks but other reports refute that. Also a question of whether Rodgers is wanting to take a pay cut or demanding more money.

Could be all of the above. I'm sure a deal would have already been done if GB wouldn't have decided they wanted more. Otherwise, why would there be a presumed deal at all?

Also, Rodgers has not once in his career told the whole truth, so anyone taking what he says at face value is deluded. It also goes without saying that Pat McAfee is deluded, but that was clear long before Rodgers started going on his show.

I don't know how all the parade of horribles would work if Rodgers can't get traded. But I hope he doesn't get traded and then the Packers have to deal with a full season of Rodgers/Love drama, esp if they go with Love and he struggles early. I don't know what would happen to GB if Rodgers just straight up retires but it sounds like they would be in cap hell if that happened. So, that's also good.

If Rodgers is already throwing GB under the bus, they're going to need to watch out, because all he has to do is "retire" and GB will either have to decide on cutting him when he inevitably unretires in June, or they'd have to set aside 60M in payroll the rest of the offseason to accommodate him when that happens.

Frankly, I'd love for that second one to happen. Rodgers thinks he has them by the short hairs, but then GB does nothing in free agency and the two parties have a game of chicken until training camp.

Agreed. They certainly would be better, but the distractions Rodgers brings with him could lead to a worse W/L record. GB has had practice managing him for a decade and a half. There's a good chance the Jets, and the substantially larger market they play in, won't have the knack for dealing with nor patience and forgiveness for his behavior.

Additionally, the Jets signed Allen Lazard. Maybe they’ll get Randall Cobb too. Between those two and Garrett Wilson, who do you suppose will get the fewest targets? Knowing Rodgers, the answer will probably be Wilson, the best receiver of the three by far.

Elijah Moore is a forgotten guy already too. If I was a fan of a team that didn't have a real QB the last two years, and I had those two as 2nd and 3rd year WRs, I'd be extremely excited now that I had a real QB.

Now if I was a fan of that team and thinking about Lazard, Cobb or OBJ getting targets instead? I'd be sick to my stomach.

Is there a less productive free agent position group than WR? Veteran WRs from other teams seem to work out once in a blue moon, even when they're good players, which these guys aren't.
