Trade for Soto

The price tag for Juan Soto is believed to have a starting point of 4 of an organization's Top 10 prospects.  I'm going to set Royce Lewis aside and consider him an injured big league ball player.  Would Austin Martin, Simeon Woods Richardson, Spencer Steer & Ronny Henriquez be too much to give up for a guy you're going to have to pay a half a billion dollars to?  I'd love to say that I see clear big league playing paths for Martin and Steer but I'm not sure I can.  The could be our keystone combo of the future or they could both be perpetually blocked by guys like Lewis, Arraez, Polanco & Miranda.  What would YOU give up to get a guy to pair with Buxton in the top 4 of our order for the next decade plus?

Those 4 would get you hung up on by the Nats, IMO.  If Soto is traded, it is going to be a total blockbuster.

If the Twins really wanted Soto, they could get him for one or two middle prospects... by eating Stephen Strasburg's contract if Strasburg was willing to go along with the trade.

Short of that, there's nothing the Twins have valuable enough to be a centerpiece.

It's going to take 2 top 50s and probably 2 top 100s, all mid/high minors for Soto in a conventional trade. The Twins don't have anything remotely close to it. Maybe Lewis + Arraez + Miranda + Larnach + Ryan.

I defiantly think that trade option would get a signed Soto's cap, jersey and bat and a National's prospect with the first name Juan. ?

That's not even close to enough to land Soto.

So you don't thinks others would be impressed by a couple of guys who cost your your top SP and a year later haven't advanced beyond where they were when you got them?

That's a good way to put it. If the Twins were to land Soto, I think it would take something like: Lewis, Steer, Miranda, and a good pitching prospect.

And given how offense isn't even close to a problem with this team, the Twins should not be playing in those waters.

I'm predicting the Dodgers land and extend him. They give up Gonsolin or Urias, Lux, and Bellinger.

I predict he stays in Washington.

Fauling that, San Diego for 2 years, then the Dodgers at the 2024 deadline.

I like your odds of being correct

Soto's not going anywhere for fewer than two top notch pitching prospects.  Probably gonna take two out of Balazovic, Woods Richardson & Henriquez AND two out of Lewis, Steer & Miranda and that might just be a starting point.
