Stashak Out For Season, Alcala Has Setback

MLB Trade Rumors reports that Cody Stashak will be out for the rest of the season. More than likely the Twins will add him as another to the growing 60-day IL.

Plus Alcala had a setback after one appearance at Ft. Myers. Alcala is still at least a week away from being able to be activtaed. And one could assume that he was going to need as much work as possible on rehab.

Oof. We really need Alcala back! 

The Stashak news stinks, but he looked middling. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't pitch again as a Twin, as he's a candidate to be DFA'd in November.

Alcala setback hurts, they need him back and pitching well in the worst way.  Duran/ Jax can only hold the fort down for so long.

Stashak hasn't been bad. He's had 2 bad games in blowout losses, one of which he ate almost 3 innings. Other than that, he's been fine... even good. Too bad.

Are the Twins cursed?

Don't have any problems with Stashak, but he's going to be 29 at the start of next season and doesn't really have an established track record. Will be very surprised if he is not DFA'd in the offseason, just with the sheer number of people who'll need to go/stay on the 40-man.
