I think the time is perfect. Any earlier, and the game would fall into the idiotic "national broadcast only" blackout rules.

I was kinda hoping Hicks would get a chance to watch a game from the bench today. Dude is pressing big time, and sometimes it takes a day of sitting in the dugout and watching to settle down a bit.

One wish--perhaps even greater than a victory--would be to seek Hicks reach base in his first at-bat. It would be nice to see the kid run around the bases a little, and build some confidence.

It's too early for that, IMHO. It would be better to let him sit tomorrow, in the getaway game. Then, get him right back in the lineup Monday in KC.

i believe they do but they probably seem curvier when mixed with other major league caliber pitches.
