GCTF Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 And KC is still shakin' his bootie. He'll have to if he keeps giving shots like that right back up the middle.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So is Correia a lot better than many people thought, or just lucky today?
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Well, after 1.7 games, the season is shaking out exactly like it was supposed to. Solid starting pitching being undone by an anemic offense. Wait...
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So is Correia a lot better than many people thought, or just lucky today? Yes. The man is a walking bend-but-not-break machine out there. How long will this cold weather last? I think that's his ally today.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Should probably have been caught. A popup that was in the air a long time, landed just beyond Floor-ee-moan's reach in shallow center. According to Dickbert, Hicks broke back initially. And KC is still shakin' his bootie. Ahh. Thanks. Just glad the yellow dots didn't get injured in a collision. And thanks for going with the phonetic spelling on Florrie, it's really helping me Get to Know 'im.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So is Correia a lot better than many people thought, or just lucky today? You're not serious are you, after one start? Neither, just in case.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I'm likin' what Parm brings to the bottom of the lineup so far.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Look to exploit the wear on Detroit's bullpen from these first two games tomorrow. (sarcasm - just in case)
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Plouffe draws a walk. Can an unscheduled appearance by Halley's Comet be far behind?
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I'm likin' what Parm brings to the bottom of the lineup so far. There will probably be a "call up Arcia" thread by Friday.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Please tell me the team's hottest hitter didn't just get pinch hit for...
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 How many times can Bert talk about yesterday's game that wasn't played? Also: Ramirez!
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Please tell me the team's hottest hitter didn't just get pinch hit for... You don't question the Gardy.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 This should have gotten multiple "likes" by now. Some of my best work, and it's gone unrewarded. sigh. So what you're saying is, the Gophers have a basketball team?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Hicks is exactly what we expected... Good eye, bad contact.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Hicks WTF? How dare the kid from AA not get a clutch hit!!! J/k.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Hicks WTF? Joe Benson and Clete Thomas yell in unison: "I coulda done that!"
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 How many times can Bert talk about yesterday's game that wasn't played? Also: Ramirez! In fairness to Bert, he probably got hammered after the game on Monday and only woke up this morning.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So who gets off the goose egg first, Parmalee, Dozier or Hicks?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Hicks is exactly what we expected... Good eye, bad contact. Now he just needs to add the home run to his three true outcomes arsenal.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The guy that started for the Twins today is clearly worth 2yrs/$10M. The question is how often do we get to see that pitcher this year?
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So who gets off the goose egg first, Parmalee, Dozier or Hicks? If you count walks, they have all exceeded a goose egg already.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So is Correia a lot better than many people thought, or just lucky today? He's better than his numbers.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Talking to coworker today and he was commenting how bad Arencibia looks behind the plate for Toronto. Listening to Gladden in the car he says, "Arencibia's glove is on the DL..." I got a good chuckle out of that one.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The guy that started for the Twins today is clearly worth 2yrs/$10M. The question is how often do we get to see that pitcher this year? The guy that gives you 32 games of 1.14 WHIP and 2.57 ERA across 224 innings gets about $20M a year, so the math says we see that pitcher 1 game in 4.
jay Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Anyone warming up in the Detroit pen?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Good luck with that whole Phil Coke closer idea, Leyland. "Pay no attention to the 200 point OPS platoon split behind the curtain!!!"
