Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Jax looks exactly like a guy who has been passed up on the Rule 5 draft two years in a row. It's pathetic that we have multiple pitchers who are only here at the MLB level simply because they have a pulse and can throw multiple innings (Jax, Happ, Dobnak, and Shoemaker up until a few days ago).

Ain’t that the truth… We’re way too focused on max effort velocity instead of hitting spots in the strike zone. The Twins” pitching staff has one of the lowest average fastball velocities in baseball, though.

Fritzderkat Verified Member Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Once upon a time if a team were not performing as well as expected and the hometown fans grew disgruntled, it was not uncommon to say the the players were bums. Nothing personal, really. You just look at the stats and the standings each day and see who's at the bottom and who's at the top. Nature of the game. Any game. And after a while, say halfway through a season, you measure what you've seen, what you've got, and make a reasoned appraisal. These guys are making good money, but in the fairest sense of the bargain, not earning it. Bums or not?
