I love listening to old players rip on the game today.

Kaat not a fan of any of the new minor league rule changes or technology.

Love it.

Inversely, there are few old players who wouldn’t get torched in today’s game.

One of my favorite lines from Boardwalk Empire:

Ty Cobb is a mad man!

Nor should he be. MLB has destroyed MILB.

I can’t think of any rule changes that  have actually made the game better

Oh man! Buckle up!

-Not necessarily one of the best bbq joints, but one of the more well known ones that's relatively close in the Jazz District is Arthur Bryant's

-Torn Label Brewing and Lifted Spirits Distillery are also in the Jazz District

-Take a free tour of Boulevard Brewing which of is close to The Roasterie Café (an awesome coffee shop that also gives tours)

?Danke

Negro Leagues Museum is great. It's in the same building as the Jazz museum maybe 10 minutes from the ballpark.

World War I Museum is also great.

If you like drinking beer Boulevard Brewing is KC's answer to Surly (or vice versa). There's a bunch of interesting breweries in the Crossroads district just west of Arthur Bryants.

BBQ- Joe's KC BBQ, Arthur Bryants, Gates, Jack Stack. and Q39 are the big names.

All sounds great thank you!

Jax on a roll right now. His fastball has some decent movement. He's going to have a lot of success when he can dot the zone like he just did that inning.

If you're driving down and have time, I hear the Omaha Zoo is really good. (If you're okay with the concepts of zoos)

Referring to animals or BBQ joints?

It’s true that a lot of these older guys who complain about the game would probably get rocked today. But there’s a simplicity to how they approached the game that is missing today.

The stockyards in KC also provide an extraordinary ambience.  Mixing high temps, high humidity and bovine droppings.

Reminds me of my high school ball field. No wonder it seemed muddy all the time.

Somebody say Donaldson got hurt?

Yep, he's out of the game after coming up lame rounding first base.

Oh, I’m not saying they’re necessarily wrong. The old, “dumber” version of the game was more entertaining in most aspects. The more we know about what makes baseball tick, the more the game slows down and the less fun it is to watch.

Right hamstring this time for Donaldson. Should we be relieved it's not his calf or concerned about this "new thing"?

That attitude these days is that technology must be applied to everything possible because it’s better. You can’t disagree with that because the old way is just irrelevant. Of course it takes away a lot the magic but there is not a rational defense for that. Most of the time people can’t understand how you could even think that way, so it must be irrelevant too. So it is what is, it’s not unwatchable yet but it sure is different.

Thus, we need to start a grassroots movement in baseball.

Well if all your concerned about is “trade value” then yes you should be concerned, otherwise just let him heal and give someone else a chance. It’s not gonna make a difference on the Twins season
